Spiritualism is a journey. You cannot attain progress of any kind, but you can attain spiritual bliss, spiritual enlightenment, etc. Begin by learning to enjoy life to the fullest, and use restraint when reacting to situations around you. Respect and love all. Care for all. See yourself in everything. "What if that person was I? What if that had happened to me?" and so on. You will start progressing on the spiritual path.

By constantly asking, searching, questioning & challenging. By looking at your life, your relationships, your experiences & asking what you are meant to be learning from this. What are these people/ experiences here to teach you?
Everything & everybody who comes into our lives, comes into our lives for a reason. There are no coincidences. Everything is meant to be as it is. And it is that way for a reason. You are the one, my spiritual warrior, who has to work this one out. Once you have done that, you will progress on your spiritual journey towards self realisation, peace & harmony with the universe.

Depends on what you mean by 'progress'. What are your goals, spiritually? I would imagine seeking the answers within, while learning from various sources; religions, holy books, or maybe even a neighbor can give you insight.

We are all going to die sooner or later. Hence we have to remember this at all times. Also today all the world major religions categorically declares that our life doesnt end with this death. There is a life after death and that depends on our actions now. Hence remembering death and this will always improve our status. For this doing regular prayers, preaching others and we ourselves first following that will help in this regard.

Progress in spiritualism is possible only if one searches within him.

No amount of visiting Temples, listening to scriptures, performing poojas or uttering Manthras will help one to progress in spiritualism, unless he is pure within.

God is Love.
God is Compassion.

One should understand that unless he transforms himself to be an embodiment of love and compassion, there is no possibility of genuine progress in spiritualism.

Secondly it is essential to know that all the creations are equal and have within them the SOUL which is divine.

There is no difference in the soul on the basis of race, religion, colour, country, sex, education or wealth.
It is said that Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa after he coming out of the trance from His meditation, prostrated in front of a cat which came in front of Him.
This act of his clearly shows the presence of Athma(Soul) which resides in all living beings and that they are equal and divine in nature.

It should be realised that we are not the body with which we falsely identify ourselves, but Athma (SOUL).
'Aham Brahmasmi" and
'Tat Twam Asi'
This is the greatest truth realised by our sages in the past, after performing their rigourous Tapas.

Therefore spiritual progress is directly depended on the success of one's changes within him.

If you are sincere, I recommend that you obtain a picture of Shri Ramakrishna Paramahansa, and pray to him regularly every day to help you attain your goal. Shri Ramakrishna was a true avatar of the modern day, who actually attained to God, and thus was qualified to speak with authority on the subject.. He also was known for his absolute dedication to truth, and thus you can rely on his teachings absolutely. His most famous disciple was Swami Vivekananda. When Shri Ramakrishna was dying, Vivekananda was sitting by his bed, and was thinking as he looked at Ramakrishna, "Can you now say that you are God?". Ramakrishna immediately opened his eyes and said to Vivekananda, "He who was Rama, he who was Krishna, is now in this body 'Ramakrishna' ".

He also promised that those who prayed to his picture with faith would attain to God. Therefore I tell you that if you do this, you too will have your desire. Everything hinges on your sincerity and dedication to the quest.

One doesn't "attain progress."

When one attains, they have reached their end objective.

When one progresses they are moving toward the end objective.

How one makes progress depends on their religion.
Some depend on penance and pain.
Others depend on study.
Others depend on meditation and insight.
Others depend on works and/or prayer.
