i just started weight lifting, and i'm very short like around 5'3 or 5'1 anyways i'm turning 15 and i'm still short, my parents are short though, but my brother's tall even my little brother is almost taller than me, i know it's because of heredity, but does weight lifting makes me even shorter?

take it from someone actually experienced with bodybuilding: lifting weights can stunt your growth. lifting weights hardens the plates which in adults builds up density, but in youths it closes them off. meaning NO MORE or LIMITED GROWTH. this is real. and at your height prob not a good idea. the other main issue is the chance of bone damage. this is even more dangerous.

you can lift weights, but should be under supervision and never to failure. you should be using light weights and always be able to get more than 10 reps out on each set, no matter what exercise.

no, lifting won't make you shorter, but you are still growing and probably will be for another few years. So to not "mess" with that, don't do anything that puts strain on your spine, so don't do any exercises with weight on your back, such as squats and calf raises, also don't do shoulder presses or anything where you lift weights straight above your head. But stuff like biceps curls and bench presses are fine.

I'm a lifestyles-lengthy martial artist, & I've under no circumstances heard any person say it is too early to start weight coaching; I feel the right factor to impeach, is what kind of weight coaching is high-quality applicable on your age organization & frame kind? *Exersise promotes muscle & physiology growth, hence, I might think that if there's any threat of your development being stunted, it might much more likely be attributed to incorrect vitamin even as weight coaching. *Consult anybody w/ a history in activity technology/nutrients.

No, weight lifting won't make you shorter, and yes, it's okay. Lift lighter weights where you can lift at least 12 times until you learn good form.

weight lifting does not affect your growth, unless your not lifting properly
you have to do about 3 set of 10-15 reps and also you have to do the lift properly
.............have someone to demonstrate for you

Resistance training is good, to keep the muscles healthy, but pushing yourself to get big isn't good yet. Wait until you are 17.
