Dont matter about the body once you die, your soul existance, if you are a true child of God, will be carried away to heaven by the angels. Isn't that wonderful?

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried" - Luke 16:22.

I have always just thought I'd be buried. My mom wants to be cremated and I was wondering if the bible has anything against being cremated, and I was told no, that when we go to heaven our bodies are renewed, so it doesn't matter. I had heard that if we are cremated, we won't have a body to go to the afterlife in....but if that were the case, then what would happen to those killed in tragic accidents?

I'm Indian, and we believe in cremation. Everyone in my family that has passed on has been cremated. We believe that the body is not fully rested unless all its remains have been completely dissolved right away. The soul is released, and one is free to be reborn again. Being buried rots the body AND soul. I would want to be cremated, only because I don't want to take up and more land, and because I do think it's better for the body and soul. :)

Buried without embalming, in a cheap pin box, on a mountainside where I can do some good being a nutrient for living plants.

I read an article years ago, about when they moved the Denver cemetery because they wanted to put the state capitol building on that hill. Embalming had just become a common practice. The newspaper's descriptions of the potter's hill area - how the boxes had rotted but the bodies had not (and other disgusting details - the author was clearly going for shock value and public outcry - I bet he got it) convinced me that there was no need to ever pump those chemicals into me. I'll happily rot away, thank you.

Cremated.

Cremated. There's no point to burying and it wastes too much land space. Cremation is a cheaper process (no buying the casket, purchasing a plot, headstone, etc) but I am a bit creeped out by people who keep relatives' ashes around. I would much prefer to be scattered somewhere that meant something to me.

Cremated. I figure that when the cemeteries get full, the bodies will be burned up anyway to allow the recently passed on a place to lie. Plus, I'd rather have those that love me, not feel compelled to return to only one particular place to remember me by.

Cremated in the Hindu(even though I'm not hindu) because it's a less sterile unfeeling way to get cremated than is used in cremetorium. Thats plan B though plan A is to never die.

Something more creative... I'm thinking I'll get someone to build me a pyramid and that's where I will wait until I'm woken up to enjoy the after life or however that whole thing goes. I'll have all my valuables in the tomb with me, such as my velveteen rabbit, my book collection, my purse collection and a few strapping young men to make the eternity of the after life a little more ... uh... pleasureable...

Cremated. It's cheaper, cleaner, more space-effective, and my relatives can either keep my ashes or spread them in some pretty place. Much more appealing thought to me than rotting in the ground. Plus I won't have to worry about anyone messing with my remains.

Is it a pagan ritual? Right on!
