I've read the book so many times. I can see that hear some people claimed it is a fiction. Even i watched in the discovery channel program trying to deny the book. Still, i can't see clearly on how can they classified it as a fictional book. Since lots of the fact inside the book look so real. I didn't believe about the character inside the book because it is obviously fake one. But the fact is so real. And when those people out there said it is fake and fiction, i want to know how?
When i read da vinci code, lots of evidence were put inside the book, but when i watch the Discovery channel Da vinci Code Encode, they didn't really proof wrong all the evidence in the da vinci code rather than just saying, that MIGHT be wrong...or deny it by saying 'how can ...how can,' This make me confuse more on how to differentiate this.
I have watched other mystery solver program, but that discovery channel program on denying da vinci code was sucks.

The Da Vinci Code is a fictional story, hence, it is in the fiction section of your library.
Some of the facts in the book are true, such as the locations of monuments, and some historical facts, but the actual story of Robert Langdon is just made up.

The Da Vinci Code uses many solid facts, but how it chooses to interpret those facts, or the explanations/causes of those facts, is up for debate.
The trick is to separate where fact ends and theory begins.
Try reading "Holy Blood, Holy Grail." This is the source book where Dan Brown got most of his facts and theories from. It's a very dense read, but just skimming along will give you an idea of the evidence behind the Mary-Magdalene-as-wife argument. The authors are very careful to assert that this is simply THEORY - they are merely presenting a bundle of facts and exploring plausible, possible causes/reasons for those facts.
We'll never know for certain, and perhaps getting the "facts" right isn't the same as the "truth" of the matter. Ultimately, we can't prove it one way or the other, so you'll have to decide which conclusion appeals best to your sense of logic and faith.

I believe it's classified fiction b/c anything that is not COMPLETELY true, must be classified as fiction. That's also the case when you watch an autobiographical movie and they say "based on a true story"
There is alot of fact in this book/movie though. The secret societies are real, the info given about Davinci & codes in his paintings are real, the Roman church hiding secret documents is very real. You just have to do your research to sift through the fact from the fiction.
Also remember who controls the majority of the TV programs you watch. The Discovery channel is owned by some of the same ppl the Davinci code talks about. Those in power control most of the media & TV.

the story is sold as fiction not as text book for a reason.
You figure out what's fact and what's fiction in using sources outside of the book.
Don't know how you could stand reading the da vinci code more than once. I read it once and barely made it to the end, because it got boring and I don't think it's even good fiction, let alone fact.

I think what you have to remember is that, while all of Dan Browns info is fact and very real, the story itself is not. It can't be a non-fiction book if the character never lived, and some stuff never did happen. The storyline is what you have to keep in mind. Not the facts that are part of it.

There are plenty of whole books trying to make money off Dan Brown's novel on this very subject. Quite a few web sites as well.
The basic fallacy that I saw is that any of the 2 Billion Christian religious fanatics would change their delusion one iota in the face of something that someone called 'proof' of anything that questioned their 'faith'.
I mean really- how much more proof does evolution need? or the fact that the earth is 4.5 billion years old. It's not about proof- it's about 'faith' which is the opposite of reason. The book assumes that those with faith can be rational about their faith... which they cannot. (they can be rational about other things though)

Da Vinci code is a fiction book, but if you want to know more, read commentaries about that movie and book.

"The Da Vinci Code" being actuality or fiction is a moot element. the full concept of the e book is to make human beings think of, to undertaking every person's assumptions with regard to the "rightness" of historic previous.

"And when those people out there said it is fake and fiction, i want to know how?"
Perhaps because the author said it is. Do you not understand the concept of incorporating facts into a work of fiction to weave a story?

If you believe it's true, then it's true, and no one will be able to tell you otherwise.
Although I wonder why you've read the Divinci Code "so many times".
