I want a very specific, small, detailed tattoo - a white tiger cub with blue eyes and blue wings playing with a blue planet like Saturn instead of a ball, etc. It should be less than 3 inches square. I want to make sure the place I go will have good artists with imagination. Any suggestions?

most tattoo shops will draw it out for you for free. i'm here in austin, but went to school in houston, and got all my tattoos at Dagos (45 north, exit Tidwell). They're by far tha cheapest. I paid $80 for tha grim reaper on my arm, that i drew out. I took that same drawing to some shop on 288, and 2 other shops here in austin, and tha lowest answer i got was $175. So if you have an idea of what u want, get it drawn out, even if u have to pay a couple dollars for THAT. But Dagos is tha best place to go. new needles every time, cool people, but if you don't like tha urban crowd, you might wanna get there early, or go in the middle of the week.

that is never going to happen. the extreme detail you want will not work in such a small space. there are a very limited few tattoo artists who may could pull that off temporarily but within a few years and with aging the tattoo would spread and eventually become a colorful blob. you either need to change your design and eliminate almost all of that or you will need to allow for a much larger design. i would go for a larger design. i suggest something around seven inches by seven inches or so. but i would be happy to help you search out a custom artist in the houston area. texas is really popular with artists and has quite a few very talented ones. i would suggest nate beavers but he just moved to atlanta to tattoo at all or nothing.

First suggestion is that 3 inches is too small for all the detail that you want and second go to the shops and look at the artists portfolios and see if the work is up to your standards

Any tattoo artist would be able to do custom work for you, you just have to look at their portfolios to decide if you like the style they do. That doesnt seem like a very difficult thing for a good artist to be able to draw up for you.
