I cant seem to grasp why people always assume that Christians are stupid. So if one christian does something stupid then the entire group of christians are dubbed stupid as well?
Religion is a problem thus I am not into religion. I am into following God and what His word (The Bible) says. I am a christian but im not catholic, baptist, methodist etc...
It would be redundant for me to state the Bible verse about people who dont believe in God because im sure you have heard it all before. But I will say this question goes both ways.
Is thinking the solution to the problem of atheism and all non-belief of God?
Logic is fallible! You think you know it all but what if you are wrong. I cant speak for the whole of non-believers but many simply say they are right and that is it. They choose not to look at the possibilities of error in their way of thinking. And the same goes for Christians. we are not perfect so some things we say or think or do are wrong. The only truth is the Bible. However we can even distort that sometimes. You call us arrogant for believing the Bible is true yet you fail to look at your arrogance. You believe that you and only you are right and that everything else is mythology. If you were truly logical you would think of all perspectives before passing your biased judgments.

Pretty much, yeah.
It's hard when you're raised in religion. You can cast off your childish beliefs in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, but the stakes are higher with "God," since he's doing more than just bringing you presents ... and if your parents really seem to believe in this one superstition, then you grow up thinking that THIS ONE is real even though THOSE aren't. But of course, the truth is, THIS ONE is just as unreal as all the others. It's the one childhood myth that people don't seem to outgrow.
But the same logic that makes you understand why there's no Easter Bunny can easily be applied to understanding why there's no old man in the sky looking down at you. It just takes a little courage.
Ironically, I always hear the True Believers talking about how logical it is to believe in their God, and they can't fathom how anyone who thinks couldn't believe in him. Heh. Project much?

So you say religion is a problem? If you are an Atheist you are following a religion!!! The problem is arrogance. Those who think their way is the only way. Explore diversity!!! Someone once said, "You will know them false by their deeds." Can you guess who said that?

Based on the number of christians and muslims in the world, it is quite obvious that thinking is not such an easy solution to employ.

A lot of Christians are totally ignorant of their religion's history. If they actually researched it and used the brain God gave them they would see the flaws Christianity has.
I say christian cause most Muslims, Jews, Buddhists etc know their religion's history better then Christians.

Logical thinking, maybe. It's unfortunately true that many have spent their lives thinking about religion, yet not applied rational principles to it, and thus continued to believe.
