The items should be facing you when you open the envelope.
The first thing they should see when opening, is the invitation itself, so put that on top, then the RSVP card tucked under the flap of the return envelope **Don't forget to put a stamp on the return envelope to make it easier for people to respond**. Have that facing out so that when you open it and move the invitation, you can see the RSVP card and the flap of the envelope behind it. Then the Other 2 can be interchangeable, but I would do directions, then the information card on the very bottom.

Whenever you put a card of any type into an envelope, it should be inserted so that the user sees it as they open it...which means facing the seal side of the envelope.
You'll definitely want to put the invitation at the top of the stack, so that they see right away what the mailer is about. All of the other stuff should go behind it. I would not put the RSVP card in the envelope, unless you put it in sideways, so that it's sticking out the top of the envelope...otherwise, they might miss it, and not respond. Otherwise, I don't think the order of the other items matters.

okay heres how it goes:
1 invatation should face the seal of the evelope
2 rsvp card should be places inside the rsvp envelope
3all the extras go behind the invatation, meaning that they are in front of the envelope.
4 seal and send and have a great wedding
If it all doesnt go right all that matters is that you included everything you need for your guest to be informed about your wedding.
It is so all annoying I dont understand why everything must be done to a T. If your envelope seals need to be moinstned I would recomend buying envelope moistners. These can be found at Office Max and they are only like 2.00 its so much easier than licking them all. I hope you have a lovely wedding

RSVP card into envelope - NO
Extras under the invite - YES
Mailing envelope should face the SEAL side (upside down though, if it's a bottom opening to top invite so an envelope opener will glide and cut through the mailing envelope and not the invitation).
If you're not using traditional inner envelopes and tissue you don't need to worry about "proper" - have fun putting it together any way you like : )

OK
Nothing but the tissue if you got tissues go on top of your invite, the invite is the first thing people should see and it should be place face up towards the flap of the envelope. Everything else is placed under the invitation. If you invite has a fold and the wording is on the front of the fold the additional pieces are to be placed inside the fold, otherwise they just lay under the invite in this order. (Top to bottom)
Tissue
Invitation
Reception Card
RSVP Card tucked under the RSVP Envelope flap DO NOT put the card inside the envelope.
Any directions and hotel information last.
Everything should be placed face up towards the flap of the envelope.(Seal Side)
Yes, its annoying, but remember the invitations set the tone of your wedding, you want them to look nice. Its worth the time to assemble them properly.

no, do not place rhe rsvp cards inside the envelope the tissue should be placed between the liner and the return cards....the cards should b anyway you feel the people you have will notice that you are anxious to see them....
yes , the extras get placed under invite....
always place the invitation facing the way most people open their invitation,....towards the seal. this way they immediately see that you are inviting them....and they can enjoy your immediate future and happiness. true that there are traditions but what and who you and those who are inviting (your family/in - laws should be part of how you send your invitations. You should take the fact that two families are merging through you and you do not want to deny them of their being part of your wedding....if it is important to you.....good luck to you and your spouse to be.....
...congratulations.....

It doesn't have to be all exact... you do what you want! Yes, though, put the RSVP card into the return envelope so they can find it but all the rest of the inserts, put whereever you want. Congratulations!
