No.
If he knew he would not have allowed the marriage in the first place.
But if the husband didn't become atheist until afterwards, then there is nothing they can do.
They will not break-up a marriage for anything. And they will not ex-communicate your wife for this either.
The only guarantee they would like to see, is that your wife still raises her children catholic, if you have any. That is all, they ask.

The pope, I'm sure, can't be concerned about every woman who marries a person of another faith or no faith. I am not Catholic, but I don't think you get excommunicated for other people's actions or beliefs, just for your own.

Gosh I would hope not. That would be very wrong. Besides who is he to govern someones life? He is just a man claiming to do the work of God yet he allows many people to worship him which is clearly against God. However then again he cant really control what people choose to do but he could ask for change. And being that he does Gods work and teaches that to his devoted followers then shouldnt they know what their doing IS WRONG. Ah well.
You shall have no other gods before me. Deuteronomy 5:7
Hope this answers your question.
p.s. God loves all people

I wouldn't care what the pope thinks anyway! Why does he get so much attention when the attention is supposed to be on God? I don't believe Priests should be able to tell people they are forgiven for sins that only God can forgive either! Personally I would never marry someone who couldn't be converted to believing in God and Jesus Christ because if you are not for God then you are against him, and I could never marry someone against God.

No, he'd try to bring you IN. If you're married to a Catholic, obviously you must not have that big of a problem with being exposed to her religion, right?

Well they did a survey on catholic ministers and something like 30% of them did not believe in God. So who knows about the Pope.
It is just a well paid lavish job and one of the perks is you get to live in palatial home.

The Catholic Church allows marriage between Catholics and non-baptized persons (even you).

what the pope would do seems irrelevant to me (altho, she'd get the boot). If your wife put that much store in what the pope thought she wouldn't have married an athiest.
