Brown is dark version of orange, so if you add together red, yellow and a bit of black, you will get a brown color.
You can also get a more desaturated brown by adding the opposite of orange, which is blue.

Most colours that are opposite to each other in the colour chart will make brown when added together. Red and green, orange and blue, yellow and purple etc. You can vary the shade by varying how much of each colour you use. For a warm brown use a bit more red than green.

Mix red and yellow in equal quantities then add a touch of black. Use this mixture with blue and you get a cold grey-brown colour. Awesome for watercolour skies. Or great for distant hillsides.
For best results use crimson with lemon yellow. Thousands of browns can be created by adding more of one colour or the other.
