Know him as a person or as a professional fighter? But either way , i would try to answer your questions.
As a person , I have some friends who know him and personally met him. He is a good and down to earth person and have not let the fame and glory that he have get into his head. Aside from being a great fighter, he is a true Pinoy.
As a fighter, I myself have followed his career when he was still younger. He is a very good and strong fighter. Relentless also to add that always in his fight that he would almost go out at it and almost knocked out all his opponents.
His style has kinda wizened up as he kinda mature , meaning he pick his shots much better this time. But when he was a little younger, from the first bell of the ring till he knock out his opponent, all they would see would be a storm of punches none stop. They call him Manny "Tornado" Pacquiao then they change it to "Pacman".
Nevertheless, I still love watching him fight whichever fighting style he use.
Hope that answer , your question.

Manny's not really as good as most make him out to be, I used to watch him during his early days as a 4 rounder and he just puts his head down and rushes in throwing haymakers at his opponents, he still does this today sometimes out of habit, but Freddie Roach did a good job of cleaning up his act and actually teaching him some defense. I actually preferred Gerry Penalosa over Manny in the old days, when it came to skills, Gerry was much better. But the main difference between the two of them and what made Manny the superior boxer that he is today besides his hard left, is "Heart", he's got lots of it, and this is what makes him formidable in the ring.

Is he good or what? Are you serious, this guys one of the most under rated fighters in US. His last fight when he fought Erik Morales, was an absolute beat down. It was over before it even began. 35 knock outs sound good? He just got cleared to fight Marco Antonio Barrera Oct. 6 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. That should be good fight, but go to Youtube.com and put his name in...Watch some of his fights, and your question will be answered! He's the REAL PAC-MAN!
And this goes to idiot who said I called him underrated...Re-read what I worte you big Dummy, he's underrated in US but of course he's gonna be popular in his home country...How about reading EVERYTHING before you respond...You Moron!

I think EVERYONE who knows ANYTHING about boxing knows him. LMAO at the guy who called him underrated though, he is COMICALLY overrated by Filipinos, who consider him basically the best fighter 130 and under ever. He is one of their own, but most Pinoys wouldn't even be fans of boxing at all if not for him, if he lost I think they would declare war on whoever beat him. He is like Chavez to the Mexican people, except he's not as good.

he's not the excellent of all time. are severe? and mayweather can %. him aside truly. manny is so reckless together with his punches and counterpunchers specialize against that. everytime manny will attempt and rush mayweather, floyd might counter and quit him.
