I've heard people say "I don't believe in evolution because I don't like the idea that we came from apes."

But really, people came from hominids in a fairly well documented like of hominids like homo habilis, homo erectus, and austrolopithicus afarensis (sp?). What do opponents to evolution think of anthropology?

You have an intelligent question. Evolution is valid within species, plants and animals. Evolution from one species to another is only theory which some atheists prefer to believe in. Scientific people have much difficulty accepting the word of God, because they want to prove everything in a logical and scientific way. Science is good, and much of it is factual. The problem comes when people want to call theory, fact.

Christians choose to believe the Bible, which is the oldest book on earth, in fact the only book which dates back 6000 years. It is a brief history of God's dealings with mankind for approximately the first 4000 years of man's time her on earth, beginning with Adam and Eve.

The Bible does not tell us the origin of dinousaur and other creatures which appear to be older than 6000 years. The Bible does mention major changes to the earth after the flood. At that time things may have occurred which cause our scientific dating processes to be invalid. Or perhaps the earth was used for something prior to it's organization 6000 years ago. Scripture is silent on that subject.

Christians choose to believe the word of God rather than to depend on the work of science for the answers. It requires faith, something many scientists have no respect for. Faith seems so unscientific, but in fact is a powerful reality. Consider this, If God really does exist, and is the creator of all we see, the earth and the heavens, would it be reasonable that we people with our finite minds should be able to understand and explain all his doings. Just because we can't understand his ways doesn't mean he doesn't exist. There is an explanation for homa havilis, homo erectus, and austrolopithicus afarensis etc. But don't ever think you descended from an ape. That is a lower species, and God really did create man in his own image as he said. God is not an ape.

No doubt in my mind from reading the Bible that Adam and Eve ending up in caves for a dwelling place. The Bible also teaches that the sons of God had sex with the daughters of men. And these people became the men of renown. Giants or great strength and most definitely different from normal man. If anthropologist stay within the limits of the Bible without theories, assumptions, frauds and lies, I will listen to them. It is just when they say man came from apes that I thoroughly disagree with and they can't change my mind. The ape is with us today and so is the man. It is easier and makes more sense to read the Bible than to listen to some of these scientists speculate. A human being can only take so much "what if."
