The other day someone took something out of context and I got really upset. Thing is, it wasn't the Bible they were misquoting...it was a Harry Potter book. Yes, I'm one of those people, I dress the part and try to push the books on others. Although I'm hardly a religious fundamentalist, I came to the realization that I probably qualify as a "Harry Potter fundie."
Is there anything, religious or not, of which you'd be considered a fundie?

Every time you read and follow the directions on putting together a plastic model, you are a fundie. You are following the directions as they are written or you might end up with a wheel where a door should be.
Every time you read the book "What every driver must know" and take the driver's test, you are a fundie because you are answering the questions based on what you have read, not what you believe it should be.
Every time you request directions to get to a specific location and follow the directions and map, you are a fundie because you know if you don't follow them you will get lost.
Every time you read the Bible and follow what it says literally, as the Bible was meant to be read, you are a fundie because you know that it was not written to be interpreted.

The Fundamentalist and the Born again Churches spiritually originated from the Pergamus church, one of the seven churches put up by the apostles of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST in asia minor in 4BC (now Turkey). It was headed by Prophet John of the Book of Revelation until 100BC when Prophet John (the Book of Revelation is a book of Prophecies) died. These churches were raised up by THE LORD GOD so that THE LORD GOD will be praised as a MAN-GOD. This relationship is to prove that THE LORD JESUS CHRIST was a real historical man rather than a phantom. They are the MOUTH of the Christian Body that is why they are fond of words and new words as they profess that THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is the WORD OF GOD. GOD's comment on these churches is that they are backsliders as what they say they do not do. Thus, these churches are imperfect. Their angel of Pergamus and their church declare that THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is the True Bread from Heaven and the Rock of Salvation. Of the other remaining six churches and their corresponding body parts in the Christian body, pls visit my website-THEGOODNEWSOFTHEKINGDOM@yahoogroups.com. THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD AND WORSHIP GOD.

I'm a multi-fundie. It pays off to read and follow directions. Without hobbies, life would be boring. Without God, life would not have the same joy. Life is good, can't complain. 8^D
Blessings to you!

I'm a movie fundamentalist, for lack of a better term. I support those who make beautiful works of art (like the Coen brothers) and I reject those who just use CGI and mass promotion (like Michael Bay)

Fundamentalism is just another group-think. You learn a lingo and some new words. Using your new vocabulary is an excuse for being a good person, because you're one of "us" rather than one of "them."
Fundamental religion is SUPPOSED to mean a return to the original. Most of what fundies do, they would be surprised to find out themselves, is relatively new.
