How to detect if you have tapeworms? what are the symptoms?

Most tapeworm infestations are asymptomatic. Pernicious anemia (caused by vitamin B 12 deficiency is sometimes seen.) Risk factors include living in rural areas where raw sewage is used for fertilizer, or consuming poorly cooked beef, pork or fresh water fish (mainly in the pike family).

Diagnosis is made by finding tapeworm segments, called proglottids, or ova in your feces. Finding a lab technician skilled in this art is becoming more difficult, for obvious reasons.

Yes, of course it's possible. It's unlikely, but it is possible.

Tapeworms are very easy to test for. Just see your doctor.
