There is a lot of wishful thinking on your part in that question. Christianity is not going anywhere anytime soon nor is Islam, Hinduism or Buddhism among countless others.

The similarities between atheists and pagans is that each gives the other space to live their lives as they choose. Pagans for the most part don't insist that atheists begin believing in deities, atheists for the most part, don't try to poke holes in our beliefs. Part of it may be because a large number of us pagans believe in Nature, and you really can't disprove a tree.
Look around, we are becoming far more dominant, or at least open in our beliefs. However, if the Abrahamic religions do lose ground, new deities will most likely spring up to take their places, and it will take centuries if not millenia to do so.

Today major religions will never get relegated to the dustbin, that is just wishful thinking, Atheists and Pagans are a very small minority of people who received about the same reaction from non-Atheists and non-pagans it is probably what draws them together. Even between the two groups together they are still a very small minority, they may know how to scream and yell and carry on real loud but that's about as far as they will get, they are not rapidly growing as some of them suggest.

I will stand by the conviction that as long as the earth is still in existence, man will be on it and the church of Jesus will remain. If it is mythology, then it should be taught in public schools--shouldn't it? If religion were to ever not exist then society would be like that in the movie "Idiocracy". Rent it--I feel since I sat through it that others deserve to be punished as well! I don't believe in what is popular, but as a Christian I try to live peacefully with all men and when I ask you if you're interested in studying the bible, just say no and you won't hear from me again--but you will someday remember that I asked and you had a chance.

The organisation of any faith is an element of "historic previous". historic previous is written by the victors and/or the dominant majority. although, Judaism exchange into supplanted by Christianity yet the two exist and Christains oftentimes do no longer call Judaism mythology. Islam supplanted the two Christianity and Judaism, yet all 3 exist and however the Jews and the Christains deny the validity of the Holy Qur'and and Mohammad as a prophet, Islam accepts the two them and their scriptures as "ahl al kitab" (human beings of the e book), their religious brothers and sisters (a minimum of in theroy if no longer in prepare). you're superb suited in that Christianity regulated the Norse, Greek, Roman, HIndu, Shinto, and so on. ideals to the catagory of myths. you're additionally superb suited that to those that carry to and/or prepare those faiths, their ideals are each lots as valid as Christianity. For an intersting perspctive in this line of theory from the different view, study approximately Japan, a "non-Christian" us of a (with below 2% of the populaton claiming to be Christian or maybe much less claiming to be Muslim or Jewish). Buddhism and Shinto are the final public faiths and maximum persons in Japan have self assurance that Christianity is mythology. All issues count on how one chooses to view them. wouldn't all of it be nicely with you and this one thank you you for an unique and considerate and theory scary question.

Atheism can only exist if a quality education system exists as well. Look at the overpopulation and cave man conditions of so many people. Compare their breeding to that of educated people and you'll see that the number of people who use faith will outpace those who do not.
I know it sounds like Chicken Little, but if education is a prerequisite for atheism then we're never going to see rationality prevail because stupidity is the default position for all humans.

Unfortunately, you are correct - there are terrible rifts between various religious denomination and beliefs; but this due primarily to interpretation of the bible. However, you can be assured that all prophesies uttered the in bible will be fulfilled. The bible is inerrant and inspired, and will play out at written. Atheist and pagans may very well get on well, but they risk losing their eternal salvation. I pray often for peace among our Lord's children; but perhaps this divisive dialog is beneficial toward leading us along His path. It definitely offers much food for thought. May God bless this day and all that follow.

Oh I think Paganism is mostly a harmless fad. I think it will fade out from the same forces that are going to kill the big religions after a brief period of growth.

When the political beast turns on Babylon the Great (the harlot) and destroys religion, that's when the end is coming. Everyone will know that Jehovah is God, and that his son rules the earth from the heavens. It's foretold to happen.
(Revelation 17:15-18) - And he says to me: “The waters that you saw, where the harlot is sitting, mean peoples and crowds and nations and tongues. And the ten horns that you saw, and the wild beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire. For God put [it] into their hearts to carry out his thought, even to carry out [their] one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God will have been accomplished. And the woman whom you saw means the great city that has a kingdom over the kings of the earth.”

No, the real thing that is happening is that people are finding out that religion is not for today because religion is man’s attempt to please their gods and control other people. Religion has rules, rituals and laws to follow. Every religion believes that they have the answers for redemption. The answers for religion lies within man’s ability to follow it’s teachings.
Jesus is God’s way to reach down to mankind with love, forgiveness, acceptance and grace. Jesus is not a religion. He is God and He is the way for man to have fellowship with God.
When we come to Jesus, we are full of the original sin nature and the sins that we have committed. He cleanses us when we accept Him as our Lord and Savior and repent of those sins.
Our redemption and salvation results from His willful and sacrificial death on the cross to take our place for our sin nature and our sins. He is the only atonement possible because He is without sin. Jesus does it for us because we are incapable of following any religion perfectly. He did follow the law perfectly.
Coming to Jesus, not religion, is what God requires for us to become forgiven, sanctified, and have the relationship with God that He intended from the start. Jesus is the only way to God.
Jesus' kingdom will never end and His love is what causes Christians to share ALL common ground and to love each other and other people with genuine acceptance and respect.
