Christian bashing is not atheism, it's just being anti-Christian.
We really don't bash Christians. I have Christian friends...but we don't discuss religion. There is a saying that if you want to gain enemies, talk about religion and politics.
The problem with Christians compare to other religion is that most Christians have this delusion to make the whole world a Christian before Jesus second coming. Now that's where the fight starts. If Christians notice that you don't believe in the Bible and on Jesus H. Christ, well they consider you are from Satan. Just an example, look at one of the answer who says that atheism is from Satan. (who by the ways can't even spell atheist right ... "aethiest " for crying out loud...haven't you saw that Check Spelling button?)
Anyway...Christians have this so-called God given duty to fight Satan. So if they perceive that atheism is from Satan...well you guess it.
As for an atheist...the enemy is not the adherents...it's the system.

Yes. I agree with the first answer.
The Chistians are the worst 'bashers' I have ever encountered. I am an aggressive atheist only as much as I am fighting back. I wish no conflict at all in my life, but hell if I am going to let gay bashers and ignorant bastards dicatate morality to me!
There are good Christians, and even though I feel they are delusional and misguided by wishful thinking and religo-centrism, I can get along with anyone that at least TRIES to be open minded and open to discussion as opposed to proselytizing me.
As for one of the quotes above...I also saw a quote from Robert Sawyer, SciFi author, saying that: "Atheism is a religion like NOT playing chess is a hobby". LOL

Atheism is a valid belief system; however, bashing Christians is still a worthwhile pursuit.

I just hope one day the evolution monkey questions stop.
It depends on the person. Some have true questions, and I answer them respectfully. Others are here to start trouble, and by their 6th trollish question sometimes they don't get a respectful answer

Two basic kinds of atheists, like two basic types of any "labeled group"
Victims and Non-victims.
Victims feel they are being attacked abused, taken advantage of. This is their emotional condition, and act accordingly. When one thinks they are under attack they respond. Why they feel that way is the question, only that particular individual can answer.

It's an ABSENCE of belief.
I'd apologise for my occasionally testy one-liners, but after you've heard the same damfool question for the 5th time in one day, it's hard not to feel irritated.

No, it is just a disbelief in religious nonsense.
And I rarely ask questions, let alone redundant ones.
