Recently while using Pepto I noticed it made my crapp almost as black as pavement for a few days following my use of it. It seems like since Pepto is pink that when it lines your stomache it would make your crapp pink.
I'm curious. Someone please explain.

Pepto is only pink because of the artificial dyes. Your digestive system breaks down these dyes. That is why your "you know what" isn't pink. As for the whole black as pavement thing, I'm not so sure.

It has something to do with the lining of your stomach. I took it and it turned my tongue black and completely freaked me out, because I had no idea it was the pepto that did it.

The active ingredient in Pepto-Bismol is bismuth subsalicylate. Its products of degradation cause the black coloration of your stools.
PS: in order to promote civility, stool is a better word than crap. One story goes that when a former president referred to something as a pile of manure, a prim woman approached the first lady and suggested she teach Harry (or Lyndon) to say fertilizer. To which Bess (or Lady Bird) replied, "It has taken me thirty years to get him to say manure!"

Thats a good question, I've also had it turn my tongue black too ! talk about a shock when you wake up in the morning and look in a mirror to see that your tongue is black !
