I also don't know how to put sunscreen on the top of his head without making his hair greasy. Is there any other thing I can do?

be on the lookout for "scalp sunscreen spray". i recently saw this at a pool party and thought it was pretty helpful in situations like yours.

My son doesn't like to wear hats either. It is annoying when we go out into the sun because I don't want him to burn but my son has enough hair that the sun cannot reach the scalp itself. I wouldn't worry about the top of the head unless there isn't much hair..in that case keep them in the shade as much as possible (believe me I DO understand how much of a task that really is), or put up an umbrella and try to keep baby under that..really anthing that provides shade will be okay.

The benefits of sunscreen far outweigh your dislike of the look of greasy hair! If he won't keep a hat on by all means use the sunscreen.

My son won't always keep a hat on either but we do have one that has the elastic that goes under the chin and he does keep that one on.

Ah, the hat. I think every toddler goes through the "NO! I will not wear a hat!!" You have to put sunscreen on his head if you don't want him to burn. Other than that, you can try letting him pick out his own hat (worked for my daughter). Sometimes they prefer a baseball style one to a bucket style. Good luck!!

If he has enough hair he won't need a hat.
If his hair is that thin, who cares if it is a little greasy, beats a sunburn.

We use the sunblock spray and just get the part and the ears. It's not as greasy, and works just as well. But all in all, the greasy hair is worth not burning on the head, that just hurts.

Apply sunscreen to his head by rubbing it in like you do on his or her arms. There are a variety of sunscreens I would suggest using a sunscreen that you spray on I like Coppertone Sport sunblock spray it has a ulta dry formula
