Check out Irish sea ferries.
http://www.ireland.ferries.org/

return fare from Holyhead to Dublin is approximately £46.19
Why don't you get a flight instead? it would cost around the same price or maybe cheaper.

Again,

Depends on where you travelling from.
In most cases if you are brining a car with you try the Holyhead routes from Irish Ferries or Stena Line.

There are some fast ferries on this route that do the journey in under 2 hours.
If you like further south you could go from Fishguard to Rosslare and drive up to dublin.

If you don't need a car but still want to go by ferry the cheapest is usually to get an all in ticket from National Express. This should be 30 to 50 pounds return depending on where you are.

But do look at the low cost airlines if cost is a problem.
Ryan Air and Easyjet offer very low prices if you travel at unsociable hours.

Good luck !
