You have to set the "wrap."
Two ways:
1. Right-click on the graphic, select "Format Object" or "Format Picture," and click the Layout tab.
"In front of text" usually works.
2. Click the picture to highlight. If the Picture Toolbar doesn't display, right-click and see if you can choose to show the Picture Toolbar. On the toolbar, click the button that has a dog on it. Try a few options.
To keep the picture with a particular paragraph, click the "lock anchor" button which is in Layout, "advanced."

Try cut and paste - or if its a relatively short distance, right click on the picture, keep the button pressed down and move the mouse to where you want the picture to be. As you release the button, a small dialog will come up offering the options "Move Here", "Copy Here"

drag it on to the taskbar where the microsoft word program is, then if microsoft word is minimized, it gets maximized automatically*( you should get the image 'dragged' that is.. you shouldnt leave the mouse button... ) after it maximizes, you can drop the image icon where you want the image to appear
if you are asking about moving the image inside of MS word,
right click on it > format picture... go to the Layout tab and make the image "Behind text"
I always found out that its more easy working with images that way in microsoft word..

Clair, in the file, edit view tab bar....
Go down abit with your mouse, right click on any empty place there & search for "Pictures".
It'll soon pop-up for you. Later, look for a picture of a dog in a box (small figure).
Found it !
Ok.. CLick it then > "Behind text"
PS: Before all this you need to click/highlight your picture first.

you cannot move an image with the mouse in Word once you insert it
You can move it by putting the cursor in front of it and moving it to the right with the TAB key
or move it down with the ENTER key
Hope that helps.
