My personal opinion is that there are many men and women that have found a cushy job.
They come to your Church and preach a sermon, not having a clue what the people in the congregation are going through, take up a love offering, go to the dining hall and eat chicken.
Then they leave and head some where else for Wednesday night services.
I am a Christian Preacher, writer and Evangelist and have never taken one red cent from any Church, and I never will.
I am blessed with a full time job that supports me and my family.
I guess they have their place, it's just not the place I'm in.

Preachers generally accept a love offering from a church when they are aked to preach. If, indeed, it is a very famous, in demand preacher, I am sure he would need to be paid for traveling expenses and such. If it were a famous rock star coming to do a concert you'd expect to pay them. Just because someone's career is preaching do you not think they should be paid? Come on, preachers have to earn a living to and we should pay them. You could always preach and donate your time all over the world..won't feed the family but but the Word will go out!

I know some preachers thats their income is what churches give. Most churches I have ever been to give a love offering to the guest preacher. I know one preacher who is well know to many and thats David Gibbs and he has preached at many conferences and he is given a love offering as well.

I'm glad they do. That way you can know the state of their heart. The wolves in sheep's clothing are easy to spot when they have dollar bills hanging out of their disguise.
On the flip side it is very cool if the fellowship that invites a preacher offers to pay them for the visit if they have the funds.

It does not hurt to pay someone their expenses and travel costs to come preach to you that YOU want to hear. It is spoken about in the Bible by Paul.
IF THE preacher wants to charge an EXCESSIVE amount that you have CONFIRMED is excessive THEN WHY would you want to hear him preach when it confirms that he is GREEDY?

Have you ever looked at a nationaly know minister, and looked at the size house they have, how many acres they own, how many different homes they own, where they go on vacation, the size of the diamonds their wives have, and what stocks, bonds, and other investments they have.
Of course they need the money. You didn't think they were doing it for the love of God and their fellow man did you.

If they expected money, they wouldn't be invited. Most are given a love offering in appreciation and to help the ministry.

Why would anyone be gullible enough to PAY to be preached at, for pity's sake? Of course, those phony men and women "of God" have to be kept in their gold jewelry, their $2.000 suits and their $100,000 cars. How pathetic. Jesus would say "I know them not" and kick them out of the temples.

Yes, it is true. The solution is, don't go to hear a preacher that you have to pay to hear. We don't have to support their lifestyle.
