You're incorrect when you say that religious people are the first to ridicule others's beliefs. Look at the titles of some of the questions here. Many are attacking Christians.
Your question is not really fair. Why don't you really look at some of the questions and responses here. You will find that there are quite a few in which Christians are called names (idiots, dumb, etc.) and in which their beliefs are attacked.

There are a lot of religious people that have been spoon-fed that people with other beliefs are always against their religion since birth. They grow up with this thought in their head and are quick to jump to this conclusion when confronted with a member from another belief mind set.
Nearly all religions have the same goal and rules. They try to teach common sense to people that do not have common sense, sometimes it can work, sometimes it can fail miserably....
note - if you want an answer as to why they bash homosexuality in they name of their religion, the above still applies.

It's just as wrong to be judgemental toward those who have a strong Christian faith -- but it seems OK to ridicule Christians. I don't get that.
I am Christian, but I do respect other faiths. And I do believe people are simply born gay -- it's not a choice or a transformation. And, yes, that must mean God made them that way.
Perhaps it's God's test for us to see how loving and understanding we truly are. Some of us fail miserably!

What youe say is true. It is not our job to judge others as the words or labels, "gay or lesbian........ " imply. It IS soley our job to judge ourselves and no one else. Each should come to know themselves before attempting to lay judgement upon another. If we all did so there would be peace on Earth.

God don't make people gay. That would be contradicting to the word of God. Gays becomes gay because they choose that path. There is many false religions out there and the world should be warned of such. Even Jesus taught on this.

First of all God doesn't make anyone gay. It is proven fact that there are things that contribute to this.
It is easy to be judgmental. But we aren't to judge someone's salvation. We aren't to hate anyone, especially homosexuals.
Jesus doesn't hate them, He just hates the sin.
His word says homosexuality is an abomination.
Jesus made Adam and Eve and the marriage covenant.
But only you and God can judge whether you are saved or not. And there is only one way to Heaven, through the Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm religious, and I try to respect other people's views, not ridicule them.
And if you think that only religious people ridicule others stick around for awhile, it won't take long for that assumption to be proven wrong.

Ramen!! They feel threatened by any opposing points of view. And their religion says hell awaits those who don't fall in line and agree. Plain and simple, but stupid.
