ML, don't you think the ones with PhDs have done a little bit of thinking?
Obviously some people go on blind faith, others do extensive research. Most people fall in between. Just because you don't agree with their conclusions, don't put them down as fools.

I am not a lazy thinker, but I think the older ones are also lazy thinkers. Probably because they think they know the Truth, and will not bend to the fact that when they die they lose everything that they are, and are born again as a new being......so they will never know there children in heaven, there husband or wives, there family members......we all become one big family.....but there was a way to keep your wife and children, but some secrets are kept from the foundations of the world.

Sometimes research finds evidence, which leads to theories. Sometimes they hold, and sometimes they must be re-thought and re-developed. As far as this Polonium Halos theory, I haven't heard of it before now, so I am not commenting on it. I used to be a young earther, but i now subscribe to the old earth theory.

Lazy? Just think of the intellectual acrobatics needed to construct a reality totally in opposition to all existing science and evidence. I would be daunted by such an undertaking.
All of their forays into science have been disastrous for their cause, but they continue to recycle discredited arguments, and sporadically latch on to this or that barely understood (by them) phenomenon.
The key to understanding their "intellectual" approach is what they will themselves admit, to wit: "NO ARGUMENT CAN BE ACCEPTED THAT DENIES OR CONTRADICTS WHAT THEY BELIEVE." People with that mindset will go to any length in order to "prove" their point.

Sadly its far more complicated than that.
Creationist usualy believe that evolution implies that the existence of God is unnecesary. Also that it is in straight relation and can't be separated from a naturalistic view, which again would necesaraly lead to atheism. This view is widely spread amongst atheists and in society as a whole and it is, in my opinion as a biologist and as a christian flawed.
Still, for them [and i can relate to that] if evolution equals atheism, than is something that should be fought

For many- a conclusion represents the place where they got tired of thinking. As far as evolution is concerned... thinking discourages them from doing the sins they are fond of... as the idea of answering for those sins one day- being held accountable- and facing the penalties for rejecting the God who died on the cross- that kind of spoils the enjoyment of the sin. So thinking past the bare surface of conveniently provided disinformation and misinformation through "science" is a great help... but only while they live.

So you asked a question and ONE of the responses you got implies that the issue was beyond your understanding.
Therefore all "Young Eathers" are lazy thnkers....
There is a flaw in that logics.
(You did not ask a question about geology or Polonium Halos.
You asked Creationist are lazy. So I answered that question based on your "facts".)

When you're fed a theory by people who hold a distrust of science and scientists, you absorb the distrust along with the "facts".

People believe what they want to believe, and will make much greater effort to seek out and accept data that supports their beliefs, and to avoid and reject data that conflicts with their beliefs. At some point, I just give up reading young earth. creationsit non sense, because I see it going nowhere, as I suspect they rationalize their unwillingness to read and understand "old Earth" and evolution arguments.
