When living is easy people tend to take God for granted. People think all their blessings are earned and deserved. Its easy to forget Gods hand in their blessings. Often people only come to God out of need and desperation.

It is easy to forget God because it is easy to forget others. The material world has taken the mind and plundered the heart. It takes an openness of spiritual acceptance and the capability to love to remember God.
There is a negative cloud looming over our hearts. Until the sky is clear, it is hard for us to receive the signal. Some of us are above the clouds. But the rest burn in their own Hell. We all make our own realities.

God is not found in the hustle and bustle of life. God is not found when we are overwhelmed by fear and anxiety, or when we are constantly problem-solving.
So it's easy to live life and forget God, because so many of us (including myself) often don't place ourselves in situations where God can most affect us, where He can most touch our hearts.
That is why it is necessary to have a spiritual practice. When we slow down and open ourselves to the Spirit, we find that forgetting God is no longer a possibility.

According to christianity, he didn't. You are born with original sin from Adam and Eve. Then you have to get baptized in order to go to heaven.
