well, i think knowledge is a curse and a blessing....I mean Knowledge is power, and power corrupts. So the more knowledge we attain the more likely we are to become corrupted by it. So well odds are if you attain great knowledge you will be more likely to turn away from the divine due to the corruption of the soul by the power of knowledge.

"There are many educated people who have ruined their future on account of their ignorance of religion. Their knowledge did not prove of any avail to them. " (Imam Ali Ibn Abu Talib)

It depends on what you define knowledge as. Surely knowledge is not only to know but to act upon what you know. Now, everything which brings one to a less moral life, degrade him to animal behaviours and destroying the good conscience, this can't be knowledge. This is a disease due to lack of knowledge.

From the same person whom I quoted:

- He who knows himself knows God.

- Knowledge enlivens the soul.

Which leaves me to believe that, The more we know, the more we worship as the more we come closer to God. The more we let ourselves misguided by so-called "knowledge" the less we worship surely.

Everything which has a positive reaction on the self and the society will bring a moral life but the so called knowledge which destroys good conscience, morals, values, are surely diseases of the stupid.

Yes, but that does not mean that God is not real. It just means the we mature spiritually and eventually realize that God neither wants or needs or worship. She would rather have our friendship.

I have always tied God and nature / science together, from the time I was a kid. Learning more about science, math, art, philosophy, music, etc. just makes me love God even more.

Sometimes misinterpreted scriptures and misapplied science create controversy, but in truth there is no conflict between God and knowledge.

Yes, the more you know the smarter you become and you realize that you are basing your life around a book that was written more than 2000 years ago by uneducated men that you have no clue who they are.

Well, in an odd sort of way, no and yes. Other people consider new discoveries as the truth, and God is a mere lie. Some people consider new discoveries as God unveiling His masterpieces one by one...

(to non-Christians, this also refers to your religion)

Absolutely not. The more I know about God and my faith, the more I recognize the majesty of God and desire to worship Him. And, the more science reveals about the natural world, the more I recognize the majesty of the Creator Who designed it and brought it into existence, and desire to worship Him!
