By military method do you mean using the 24 hour clock or zulu and greenwich mean times?

1200 is lunch, so add the number of hours on the clock(12 hour clock) and you have military time, 1200+ 100 = 1300(1PM). The neat thing about the 24 hour clock is when you say I will meet you at 2100 you do not have to respond as 9AM or 9PM. Also, when calling overseas, or anywhere all you have to know is the GMT(Greenwich Mean Time) and add or subtract from your location. In Kansas we are -6GMT so when it is 1800 in England its 1200 in Kansas. If you know the GMT where ever you are and where ever your friends are you can easily tell if it is a good time to call.

The 24 hour clock uses numbers 13-24 for times in the afternoon and evening... 1pm becomes 13:00, but military say "13 hundred hours". Midnight is 24 hundred hours & 1am becomes "OH"(for zero) 1hundred hours etc. 7:30 am is said "oh 730" and 7:30 pm said as 19 30.

When writing signals, the time of sending is put on the signal. That usually looks weird and indecipherable. For example, right now it's:

072330A5July 07

It is known as a Date-Time-Group (DTG) and is broken down as such:

07 - Date today
2330 - Time today
A - Zime zone (A is "clocks forward" time of year in UK)
5 - Check sum, to make sure if date is read by computer it is correct. Find it by adding all numbers in date and time together. In this example, they come to 15. Only the last digit is used.
July 07 - Month.

Simple once you know how!

They use the 24 hour clock. From 1 minute after midnight to noon it is the same as any time then to 1 minute to 1pm. 1pm is 1300 hours in military terms and continues till 2400 hours (midnight) when the next day begins.

During the morning, everything is almost normal 0600 is read as Zero Six Hundred hours and is 6:00 am. 0630 is 6:30 and is Zero Six-Thirty. after 1259, instead of starting over at 1, it simply becomes 1300 (1:00 pm) and all the way to 2400 hrs, where then it starts again the next day as 0001

It's the same as 24 hour time.
0:00 is midnight, 12:00 is noon.

So we start at midnight at 0:00 hours and progress thru to 23:59:59 hours and start all over again.

Military Time is easy to understand.
1. If the time is AM - just say the time (without AM)
i.e., 9:00AM is 0900 (zero-nine-hundred)
9:30AM is 0930 (zero-nine-thirty)
10:00 is 1000 hours (ten-hundred-hours)
2. If the time is PM - Use the same concept - but, add 12 to the hours.
i.e., 2:30PM is 1430 hours

With a twenty four clock. after mid day 1200hrs comes 1300 hrs then 1400hrs 1500hrs 1600hrs 1700 hrs 1800hrs 1900hrs 2000hrs 2100hrs 2200hrs 2300hes But in the military there is no such time as 2400hrs,Midnight as it goes 2359 to 0001hrs as the military insist that you have two minutes to yourself every day therefor they say 1 minute before midnight and i minute after midnight is your own time But after midnight the time is normal 0100hrs 0200hrs 0300hrs 0400hrs 0500hrs 0600hrs 0700hrs 0800hrs 0900hrs 1000hrs 1100hrs 1200hrs Hop this helps you.
