Don't they suggest good things like being kind and understanding to each other?

What's wrong with being nice to each other?

I think this is a phenomenom that has been widely represented in the talk show media.. It is unfortunate that lines have been drawn to cause polarization . I am not either one as I find myself in the middle of what most people call conservative and liberal. in the middle means tht I embrace from both ideologies, so I guess I am neither one.. but I do want you to know that my bestexample of how I believe is in JESUS CHRIST. HE is my example..

I'm not really a Christian, and I have a problem with Liberals and their way of thinking (I also have the same gripe with conservatives, but thats another story). Take the liberal stance on Illegal Immigration for example. The Libs say, "Make all illegals citizens".

Now why do I dislike the idea? While I agree with part of their reasoning, I find the idea lacking. If you legalize all of them to save money on tracking them down and on deportation, ok, but by doing so you send an open invitation to everyone in the outside world to jump our borders. What stops the problem from continuing to the point where we have the rest of the worlds social leeches living off of us?

This is the type of thinking I see from Liberals that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I would say I'm also discouraged with conservatives. I could give a great example using the topic of where they stand on gay marriage, and why their views are completely moronic... but again, you asked about Libs.

Right wing Christians have a problem with liberals or anyone for that matter because they don't have the same belief system they do. To me they are all hypocrites. You can't preach " love thy neighbor" then turn around and say bad things about them because they're gay and then say, "God says that's wrong" when God loves all his people and is a forgiving soul. That makes you a hypocrit! My mother was a nun before she decided to leave the convent to have a family. She always taught me to be kind to others regardless of race, religion, or any difference from me for that matter. People should learn to live there own lives and stop preaching there prejudices. There are 26 versions of the Bible and each religion believes there own version and I don't know any version that teaches prejudice. They need to stop being HYPOCRITES!

Take a look at the history of the Christian church. Hippocrisy and cruelty seem to be built in. Christ's teachings were largely about kindness to others, but that was a long time ago , and unfortunately seem to have been forgotten by many (not all) of his followers along the way. It is easy to decide what sinning entails and then exclude those sinners from your version of who is a worthy human being. Harder to accept that we are all children of nature, god, goddess, allah, yahweh, etc. and then work out how to get along from there. I believe the harder path is worth the effort, so I guess that makes me a "liberal"

Right wing conservative Christians are a tax exempt POLITICAL group just disguising itself as a religious group (and many of it's followers (known as sheep) don't even know it). And of course is strictly aligned with the National Republican Party. It was Ronny Rey GUN that started this political/religious movement back in the late '70's along with his buddy (and some say lover) Jerry Falwell, and it apparently worked out extremely well for the couple.

Right wing Christians are afraid of living in a society that has diversity. They want to live in a Christian Taliban type society where they control all aspects of society. They not only want to control themselves, families and friends, they want to control all Americans, in fact all people.

They are not nice people. The advocate war, I have seen the advocate executing liberals here on Y/A, and are very violent. I always wonder if they read the same New Testament Bible that others do. They preach so much hate it is amazing that they can still call themselves Christians. Liberals have never called for executing or imprisoning right-wing Christians, but you see that kind of rhetoric coming from them all the time. We should learn we are all Americans, have a diversity of religions and views and should allow each to live freely in this country without interfering each others religion or lifestyles.

They believe in defeating the purpose of religion. Some people believe so much, that they need to force people into their congregation. They sincerely believe that they've 'saved' someone by doing this. Liberals, are a free thinking threat to them and because they will not faulter as a result in their beliefs... they have a large dislike toward them. They shouldn't, as christians they should be respectful nice, and understanding. Offer the word of god, but do not be hateful. It is wrong in the eyes of god, and in the eyes of moral mankind.

I have no idea. I grew up in a very right wing Baptist environment where "liberal" was a dirty word. When I go back I usually keep my mouth shut, although sometimes that's impossible. I try to tell them that these so-called "liberals" are trying to make the world a better place but they just write me off as a "left-winged, tree-hugging, commie-liberal feminazi." Yeah, I've been called that. Funny thing is, I'm a Christian, you'd think they'd see me as "on their side."

Because the premise of liberalism is that we can do what we want as long as we don't hurt others.

However, that would only lead to disaster because, without objective norms, you can define what hurt is any way you want to justify anything you want, thus hurting others terribly, thus leading to societal breakdown.

The Judeo-Christian moral law is not there to ruin our fun (I like a good party or dance), but it is the operating instruction for the human person, as what we might think is good for us, may in fact destroy us if we induldge in it.

In fact, the Judeo-Christian moral law faciliates maximum pleasure in activities, because only in doing it God's way, are we doing it the *right way,* hence the rewards are maximum.

But with the liberal way of doing whatever you please, if you are always seeking pleasure as the goal of your life, then the law of diminishing returns takes effect as there is a greater and greater craving for an ever diminishing pleasure - for example, with so many hedonists now, normal sex is no longer satisfying (I can't see how that is possible myself), but they have to turn to all sorts of fetishes and perversions to get satisfaction - but in submitting to God's law of self-control and discipline, the law of diminishing returns does not take effect - of course there are times of restraint and deprivation, but that is the necessary price of not being depleted over time.

Because a key ingredient of Fascism is anti-liberalism: Right-wingers have a real disdain for intellectuals.
