Before I answer your question, I'm curious about something. Exactly what kind of proof do you require to believe? Now, let's suppose God Himself DID come down and said, "Here I am, I'm real...and oh, by the way the right religion to follow is (fill in the blank)." What if God did that? Would you shake your head and say to yourself, "Man! Where did I get ahold of those crazy drugs?" Or maybe you would believe it, and write a book about it, and tell your friends and family all about it. Then what? Some would believe you were nuts. It wouldn't be enough evidence for them. They'd think that it was all a "fairy tale." And what about two or three thousand years from now? IF your writings survived that long, it would mean nothing. Some people might believe, sure, but how many would? Anyway, to answer your question (if you're still reading), there is no proof. However, there is evidence. The evidence is in the fine-tuning of the universe. It's in life existing, when the odds are against it. It's in the irreducible complexity of a single cell, and in molecular machines. But how much evidence do you require? Will you just look at it and say, "Well, it LOOKS like it was created, but it COULDN'T have been!" Because that's what many scientists have said. People say that the religious fill in the gaps of science with God. That may be true. But others fill the gaps with speculation: "We can't explain it yet, but some day we will." Isn't it kind of the same thing? Unless string theory becomes more viable, and we discover that there really ARE billions of other universes out there, all of them are explored and NONE of them contain life (or even the possibility of being able to support life), THEN maybe I'll drop the idea that there was a Creator. But until then...and that could take billions of years, by the way...I'll keep believing. Go your own way, but keep your mind open. And READ READ READ everything you can get your hands on. I would gladly provide you with a list of books that may help you. But I know better than to try to "convert" somebody. Only YOU can convert yourself, and ONLY if your mind is open.

Your data is faulty! Elron did not claim to be inspired by higher beings- he postulated that we are perfect beings, capable of all kinds of mystical feats, and his books were freeing us from the trap set by Xenu. And guess what- it was HE, L RON HUBBARD and no other! It was He, L RON HUBBARD and not an angel or seraph. Just him,"discovering" this great tech which was going to free mankind from the traps of their body and let their thetans roam free...
In fact, if the OT VIII materials that have been released are genuine (the Church of Scientology claims they are not- and then tries to sue anyone distributing them for breach of copyright...) then God, heaven, the devil and hell ar ejust implants to keep us compliant!

You don't want to worry your pretty little head about all that silliness as I am sure that if God is around that he will let us know in his own good time.As for me,I have invented a new category for religion;insouciants as it is not a question of not knowing or not believing but not caring one way or the other.
As for L.Ron I have heard it's brilliant stuff but again he made it all up and it's interesting that his books probably cost a fortune.
You know, the older I get the more I think that the old man,who was a carpenter and didn't hold with none of that dere fancy booklearnin',was right;you can't argue with a well made bookcase.

That's hilarious.
I also find it funny that the guy who wrote such horse-dung as Battlefield Earth, was inspired by a higher being when writing Dianetics. Not only that, I can remember as a kid, when Dianetics was sold on the TV through an 800 number.

Go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_ignorance
For some interesting information, and for proof that the only reasonable argument religion can come up with is completely illogical.
Quote - "The argument from ignorance, also known as argumentum ad ignorantiam ("appeal to ignorance" [1]) or argument by lack of imagination, is a logical fallacy in which it is claimed that a premise is true only because it has not been proved false or that a premise is false only because it has not been proved true."

I know that you are trying to be funny, but you are not. If you search throughout history, the only book ever written by man that doesn't contradict itself in any way, its the Bible. Why? Because the 40-50 men that wrote it, wrote it under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It's no use using Biblical teachings or scriptures since you don't believe. So look at the facts. I know that Atheist study the Bible to try and disprove it so tell me, email me as soon as you can provide any proof the the Bible (KJV) contradicts itself in anyway and I will stop to preach. I've made this challenge before, and thanks to God and His perfection that I'm still here preaching the Word to those who will listen.

No, the human intelligence comes to the existence of God unaided.
Once it is established that God exists, and is all good, then if the source can be demonstrated to be credible, then we can hold that what God reveals is true, because a perfect being cannot be mistaken or lie.
The Bible is that Revelation.

I would say they are each as valid as the other. that is to say, both texts are works of complete fiction.
