Seriously?
We have a 4th of July to celebrate our independence from Great Britain. We celebrate that day because those early settlers left what they felt was a life without freedom.
You're right, we're no more special than anyone else on this earth but not celebrating this day is kin to forgetting those that sacrificed so much for what they believed would lead to a better life.

the 4th of July is not about the US being so special as compared to anyone else. It is a celebration of declaring Independence from tyranny long ago. Several countries around the world have independence celebrations and we don't take offense, we are happy for them as anyone would be happy for someone who has gained independence from tyranny or slavery or occupation or abuse, etc.

Kind of a liberal line of thought. There is no shame in being patriotic about one's country. This has been going on since Ancient times.

You aren't my brother.
We celebrate our freedom and independence on July 4th. If you have no appreciation for these things, I would suggest you get around a little more.
