I dont see this as prejudice exactly.. I see it as a preference. I come from a mixed family as well... although I am not mixed.. my mom is white, my dad is puerto rican.. but my stepdad (who raised me) is black. I have 2 mixed sisters.
It may be that you are so used to seeing just black women with white men, and have not been able to see how the other way works just he same. Some people may say that a black man should be with a black woman, and black people get offended sometimes with this, because they question what a white woman has that a black woman doesnt. I have heard some of my own friends make this comment before, and it offends me.
I myself am with a mixed guy, and am happy that people don't down our relationship.

I'm from a mixed marriage too (mom's white, dad's Mexican and native American) but it doesn't bother me when I see people of different races together. I don't necessarily think you're prejudice (I mean, you don't hate people of different races, do you?) but I do think you should really think about this, it could be as simple as you're just used to seeing a black woman with a white man and not the other way around. Either way, it's something you have to get over! Good luck!

Prejudice: YES
Maybe the better question would have been .....Am I a racist ? That question would not be so black and white. While all people have a portion of racism in there personality, most of us are able to filter these feelings out. Even the least racist people will laugh along with over the top jokes with there friends. Best rule of thumb is always to run your own life. If a couple is happy together that is a rare thing. LIGHTEN UP !

I don't think you are prejudice because you can't hate something that you are which is black and white. I just think that you prefer white women the same way that some white women prefer black men. I am black but I prefer lighter skinned black guys. I don't really date the dark-skinned ones but that's just my preference. I have never dated anyone overweight either because I prefer not to. That doesn't mean that I hate overweight people. Everyone in the world has a preference when it comes to dating. Don't worry about other people. They are doing what they prefer just as well as you are.

Hahaha, your not alone, for some reason i get this huge jealousy issue when that happens. I don't know why. I have black friends that i don't even consider being different then me in any way. I think its some kind of barbaric instinct left over from the cave man days that hides in our sub-concious. It probably served the purpose of not letting cave men from other tribes take our woman, lol. Don't worry about it, just realize how rediculous of a feeling it is. Long as you conciously know there isn't anything wrong then your not being racist or prejudice.

eh, i think it makes you a little prejudice, although nothing too bad. but honestly, you have to wonder if some of those girls are only dating him because of a stereotype? personally, im a white guy and don't really care when i see any kind of inter-racial couple (especially since i'm in one) my guess is to just try to ignore the skin colors and try to see two people who are happy together

Yes, you need to figure out the issues you have with black women and men. Maybe you and your mom had differrences, i can't really say. But that is an issue that you need to work through within yourself.

I don't like the word "prejudiced", plus I think it's overused, and used for every excuse in the books. People in their heart have preferences, things they like, things they don't like. People are allowed to have feelings and like what they like and to say what they like. If you have a reason for feeling that way then fine, if you don't then fine too. It's ok and you don't have to look for a reason or give a reason.
