I don't think God is either female or male. God is something that our brains of which we only use a small percent cannot comprehend so easily. on judgment day, the veil will be lifted on our eyes, and we shall get a glance of the all mighty.

In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most merciful.

God almighty did not give birth to the universe He Created It !
When ever God decides a matter he the almighty wills it into existence by Saying BE and it is.

God the almighty does not have a gender He is Unique .He says about Himself in the Holy Quran chapter 112 ''And there is nothing comparable or Co equal unto him ''

If you are looking to the Bible for the source of information about God, then nowhere does it way God "gave birth" to the universe. Rather that he "created" it. The actual Hebrew word used there means to "carefully hand craft from nothing".

If you look at the word "God" in the Hebrew langauge, it is the word "El". "El" is neither masculine nor femine in form. Most often, the word is expanded to "Elohim", which is a masculine plural word. It means "gods" rather then just "god". It is always used with a singular verb. Such as "gods is". It denotes the multiple-person which form the godhead - often referred to by the term "trinity".

God is also referred to as "adonia", which a masculine form of the word "lord" or "master".

God is also referred to as "yhwh", the so called "holy" name of God. Appears to come from the masculine Hebrew root "yawah", which is a form of the verb "to be". So again, the name carries the connotations of being masculine.

When God actually made a physical appearance on earth between 4Bc and 30 AD, it was in the form of a male, Jesus Christ.

Whenever God is referred to in the New Testament Greek, the masculine form of both noun and verb is used.

So if you are looking to the Bible as the source for determining the gendar of God, it would appear that he is masculine.

God is not a human- he does not have a sex and is neither male or female. Trying to give definite physical characteristics is to anthropomorphises, effectively creating an image of God and thus you violate the law in the Aseret hadibrot (ten statements, called the ten commandments by non-Jews) against creating an image of God.

The only reason that God is referred to as 'he" in the original hebrew texts is because in hebrew all words are gender based, and the masculine is used for the gender neutral as well.

You need to read the old Testament. Anything that vindictive would have to be female. Sorry, bad joke.
If God does exist it would not have or need a gender.
