I guess you can call her my signifigant other but we aren't a couple. We have told each other we love each other but we aren't together. Is it wrong that I shared my first kiss with a girl that isn't my "girlfriend"?

No, it not wrong, kiss her and then tell her you want her to be your girlfriend, if she enjoyed the kiss she cant't say no.

Let me get this straight in my old age - you go out on a date with a girl, but you don't kiss her good night (or try) because you are not a couple yet; you walk in the park or on the beach holding hands (or try), but don't kiss her because you are not "together"; you spend several hours together each week studying and don't kiss as you part because she is not your "girl friend"?
Maybe you need to start practicing or put it all off until you are married.
When I was growing up, I recall dating several different girls (movies, after game dances, picnics) specifically so I would NOT be identified as being attached to one girl. And I seem to recall kissing each and every one of them.

No its not wrong! It is normal!!! U can kiss as many ppl as u want whenever u want without dating them!!! Damn i have even kissed a few guys in one night! It is called being a player and everyone needs to go through it when growing up! So no relax!!!!!!!
