How can I install a new main spring on my rife?????
I recently purchased an Ox Mainspring and would like to install it into my BSA Lightning myself to boost the power in my rifle. I tried taking it to my gunsmith and they told me they had to limit the power to 12ft/lbs which is the legal limit in the UK if they install it.
Is there a way I can install it myself?
OR
Could I get someone else to install it without restricting it such as saying , "I wouldn't use it in the UK" or anyway to get them to install it and not restrict it?
Any ideas would really be appreciated,

It is an air rifle and apparantly the punishment is only a 250£ fine.................... Please only answer if you know how to install spring ect lol!

If you got caught with modified air rifle you would find the Police would test it. If it was found to exceed 12ft/lbs then you would be found guilty of a firearms offence for which the mandatory sentence (minumum) is 5 years in prison.
