In those days, wrath, male power, aggression, were all prized attributes...seems logical that these then would be attributed to "God". The world has many concepts of God. Some are closer than others to the reality that is God.

The wrath of God comes after all forgiveness and mercy are bestowed on the repenters and reformers...the wrath of man comes on a whim for no reason other than he can...with no mercy and forgiveness to be found.
