The last time i bumped into my ex after i spoke to him he saw me having a ball with my friends and he knew i looked happy and he couldn't stop staring at me, he must have been burning, that was a while ago now, do you think he was jealous enough to never speak to me again to ask for me back (not that i would ever take him back though).

Okay, he might have been jealous, but probably not. Women, by far the most sensitive sex, are so often dead wrong when it comes to figuring out how a guy feels. You assume we react the same way to situations as you do...which is often far from the mark.
Your "ex" could just as easily have been staring at you thinking, "my God, she looks great...I'm happy that this didn't hurt her in the long run", or "what did I ever see in her? I think we used to be happy, but all I see now is how much time we wasted with one another", or "did I make a mistake leaving her?", or "I'm so glad I left her...look at her over there, pretending to have a good time, all the while trying to make me feel guilty for dumping her."
Do you see what I'm saying? There are so many ways you could read this, but you chose to read it in a way that supports how you'd "like" him to feel, and now ask for others to support your conclusion based on insufficient information. He left you for some reason, probably after some amount of inner turmoil, so don't be so sure he wanted to come back to you, they usually don't. He must have been a nice guy or you wouldn't have married him. Therefore, he might have been watching you and feeling glad you were okay.

Consider what you were doing with your friends when you looked "happy". Perhaps you were acting in a manner that was not something he approved of, or perhaps he felt that you were laughing AT HIM. Perhaps you are not ready to accept a full relationship yourself, you will grow out of these foolish ideas of having a "ball" with friends and then you may need someone who prefers someone more mature than you are.

just like any other creature who breaks or broken up...
you have to remember you said it..
you are happier.. the key word happier...
it's called the "bittersweet pill"
who wants to know that they were actually wrong for the person and that it worked that that person is no longer together with you...
that's a hard feeling to get over, is that you were wrong for that person, that all you could've done was hurt them.., and most of all that your life and world is better without them living or in the same world.. you actually have a place in the world..
and not him..
his world probably sucks right now... forget him and enjoy what you have now...

well i guess he realized he made the mistake and was hoping you were gonna come back to him..
again like i said, who wants to admit he was/made a mistake..?
