When I got this computer I thought I'd get into some chat rooms not knowing what I was gonna read. Most I entered, I'd say, had kids 13 to 20 by the maturity of their writing. To me It sounded like a meat market...human meat. These poor lil' girls hadn't a clue what could befall them for the sexual invitations they were giving. I saw a program about sexual predators on the internet & so many girls were being slaughtered, not just killed, through this. Many chat rooms, even the ones I thought were a mature topic, were the same. I told my co-worker that I was looking forward to the company I was gonna have, since I lived alone at the time, through these chat rooms. She said, "Oh didn't you know, they're all like that"? How many of you are with me on keeping this site interesting and helpful and report people talking about how long (or not) their penises are!!

If we don't report flagrant violations, the site will be ruined. And you are right, we need to keep this from becoming a tacky chat room. However, if a question is borderline, it is sometimes better to answer it, but mention that it is "technically" in violation of the guidelines. Then you can actually educate someone who may become a positive addition to the community with a little education and a little slack.
It's a hazy line between violation and not, especially in the area of insults to specific groups. Some people are so sensitive that an honest inquiry will be interpreted as a slur just because it mentions a particular racial or ethnic group. Members of such a group can do more to educate the users if they respond with dignity than if they simply report.
Of course, someone who is simply violating the guidelines to show off deserves to be banned as soon as possible, and reporting them does all of us a favor.

I have only reported abuse when it has come to actual threats of violence against someone or of religious or cultural intolerance beyond the measure of civility. As for mature comments made, I do think people should be more cognizant of minors online. I have also entered to yahoo a suggestion to make a separate "adults only" category so that people who are either minors or insenstive could avoid controversial topics. If I do find some questions and answers too explicit, and beyond reason they should be reported until adjustments are made by yahoo to create an adults only category.

Hopefully, those "poor little girls" have parents with brains. Something would have to be pretty severe for me to report it. I think I've only reported someone once, and that's because they used my name and picture to post a lot of very hateful things.
Generally, if I find something offensive, I pass over it. The people who are trying to "troll" are only encouraged by negative feedback and will create new accounts if they are kicked off, anyway.

I think that is sad. There used to be a lot more control and if you posted something indecent or profane they would boot you off in a New York minute. I know you can get higher Security controls, purchased in the store and set your parental controls higher. Some parents are too gd lazy.

Peoples opinion or rudeness are no concern of mine....live and let live.
However, foul language...that I report. I am 51 and been there, but there are young people that do not need to be exposed to it.

I do. I will not report anyone for any reason other than crudeness. This includes the vile names and avatars i have seen on here.
There is just no need for it is there?

You are a good person. I am sad to say, though, that it goes on and on. I think we need to do our best.
If there is vulgar language, I say yes! Look at the community guidelines and see what the rules are.
Bless you!

I always do. Some people are so ignorant in freely reflecting their perverted and/or ignorant thoughts in their questions and answers.
