I will assume you are referring to "undocumented workers?"
This country was founded on greed and exploitation. I think you need to worry about the companies that are moving out of the country to further exploit cheaper labor. Homes will continue to be high in price to the consumer, but with undocumented workers, it just puts more profits into the home builders pockets. Undocumented workers will continue to come, as long as our USA and companies wish to exploit them. It would be better to use the term, undocumented. Illegals and aliens are very disrespectful terms to a human being. I am a proud Mexican American and would die for my USA if need be, but citizens need to complain to their corporate America, because they truly want cheap labor here. It is a system that needs major reform.
I really need to put to rest the comments of many who say it is very difficult to buy homes in the US. I am a truck driver of 17 years. I have never been given sums of money from my parents, I am 36 years old. I drove my same car with NO A/C
for 14 years in a pretty hot weathered city. I lived modest, but not cheap. I repeat, I have NEVER been given sums of money by parents or in winnings. I own eight homes. One I live in and 7 rentals. I am still paying for the mortgages of course. Total RE holdings 3.5 to 4M $. I have never sold drugs, for money and never will. Here is my point to people who complain about not being able to afford homes.
Get a home, before the flashy cars, rims, stereo systems, DVD, expensive jewelry, lavish trips, shopping sprees, and having way too many children than one is able to afford.
Continue striving for better jobs, or run your own company and continue educating yourselves. I IN NO WAY wish to shine a light on me of what I have. I am very humble, genuine, and grounded. I simply wish to prove a point, it can be done. Stop making excuses and strive.
PS my Father came to the US with a 5th grade education and my parents own 5 homes. It can be done.
Blessings and luck to all

People need to be close to where they work. Work is in the city. Land is hard to come by nearby so is expensive. While I'm totally against illegals taking jobs from Americans (there are no jobs Americans won't do as long as the pay is enough to live on), the costs would be even higher if union wages were paid. In addition, the less rural an area, the more government interference in the form of code inspectors, licenses, etc is a fact adding to the already high cost. Unless someone invents teleporters (like on Star Trek), this will only get worse as the USA becomes more and more overpopulated. Since native American births about equal deaths, this increase is mostly due to immigration. When the USA had room to spare and needed a higher population, large numbers of immigrants made sense. It no longer does.

That's an easy one. So the contractors can make a bigger profit. Construction costs go down because of the cheap labor, but prices stay the same or go up in order to increase the cash in their pockets.

builders are reaping those profits. What's funny to me is there is high end neighborhood around the corner from me that is about 15 years old and the 750000 dollar homes are falling apart. Good quality beanhead construction

We need more homes because of the illegal immigration. Thus the home prices have climbed. Supply and demand.

Without knowing where you live, I couldn't possibly explain why housing prices have skyrocketed in your area. Imagine how much homes would cost if NOT for illegal immigration.

this is the fee of the form components. first of all, china and india are in such huge construction booms, they're taking a great kind of the obtainable contruction components this style of dry wall, aluminum, and urban inflicting a scarcity and so the fees boost. 2nd, with the fee of gas so severe, each and every element you purchase that relies upon on transportation is going up in value.

its a question of supply and demand. the demand for new houses is great because there is a finite amount of land and the population is growing. the use if illegals just helps the contractor have a better profit margine.
