Us Americans come no where in comparison to the Nazi's, and I do agree-that is a very bad anaolgy. I must correct you in your sentance though-we are not commiting war crimes, so there's none to be considered. We are a patriotic country, and not only are we defending our freedom and everything that our country stands for, we are helping the countries of Iraq and Afghanistan, including their people, to develop a stable form of government and to be able stand on their own feet without asking for help from others. We are building schools and medical facilities. We even treat their wounded and sick. Do you see any war crime in that? I sure as heck don't.
All you see on television and in newspapers is either Republican or Democratic news; always displaying the wreakage, reporting on bombings and suicide attacks, death toll. You're not apart of our military community, so you never see the good in what we're doing.
If you don't like what we're doing, then don't look, listen, or watch.

You're using a bad analogy. Nazis were held accountable because they belonged to the Nazi Party and committed war crimes and crimes against humanity. You're saying that Americans, not government officials or members of a particular movement or party, ought to be held accountable because they're patriotic. Saying that Americans, regardless of affiliation, should be held accountable is like saying that we should hold all Germans accountable because of the actions of some.

Sometimes people at war are pressured into committing horrendous acts they would not normally perform.
There are several incidents of soldiers going through court martial proceedings because of their interrogation techniques, or because of their trained hatred of the enemy causing them to slaughter innocents.
The most famous was the trial of Lieutenant Calley and the Mylai 5 massacre in Viet Nam.
In answering your question, Americans have been held accountable, and continue to be held accountable for war crimes.

Who defines war-crimes? The VICTOR, thats who. This whole argument is premature, because the war is not over yet, and has no clear victor. If Germany had won world war 2 who do you think would have been prosecuted for war crimes? So instead of jumping the gun here, why dont we just wait and see who wins the war first before we start handing out the summons'. Personally I am not going to be rushing out and buying myself a prayer rug any time soon, but by all means if you seriously think we are going to lose this (or maybe you just want us to), then go ahead and get you a little list of all the mean and evil Americans that you think should go to jail, or be hanged, or beheaded or whatever else the enemy will do to them if they win. While you do that I will be buying more ammo, and waiting in patient preparedness for terrorism to strike my neighborhood, and when it does, I will be responding with a brand of terrorism of my own I assure you.

If there are any more, then the individuals will be held accountable. Just like the people in Abugrad (or however you spell it). They were held accountable for their actions.

It is possible to be demonic and patriotic since one is religious and the other secular.
War crimes? There are no war crimes committed by the US.
I find it ironic that you don't consider beheading civilians, kidnapping and torturing civilians, using children as suicide bombers and extrajudicial killings as war crimes as the insurgents in Afghanistan and Iraq are doing.
