It's a good idea to tip anyone that brings food to you at home or in a restaurant. The pizza guy is basically a waiter with wheels.

I think that it depends on where you live, the rudeness, that is. It could be that in some parts of the US, not tipping is considered quite rude, but as far as the Northwest, where I am, its not horribly rude to not tip the pizza guy. There is a good reason to do it though. The people you tip will sometimes put you in a system, and you get better service as you tip more. I've known pizza guys who have gone to one house before another because they know that if they go to that one house, no matter when they ordered the pizza, and the food is still hot, they'll get tipped really well. Other places get less service, or worse service if they aren't good tippers.
Its good for all parties involved when you tip. The pizza guy gets a little extra cash, and you get better service, and better pizza. So why not do it?

Are you asking about the U.S.? Because customs for tipping vary tremendously all over the world (and pizza is everywhere!)
U.S. food delivery people are very poorly paid on the assumption that they will earn tips, and they often have to pay to maintain and run the delivery vehicle if it's their own car or motorcycle. If you don't tip, you are essentially saying to the person delivering the pizza, "Thanks for doing me this favor. You get nothing! Ha!"
I don't advocate the adulteration of food as revenge, but, yes, there are those people in food service who will spit in or in other ways mess with the food of people who they think deserve to be punished. No one deserves that. Besides, many people who fail to tip in this or that circumstance are acting out of ignorance, not malice.
In Britain, tips for the delivery of pizza or other take-away foods are rare enough that sometimes the delivery person is puzzled when I hand over an extra pound or two.
In Australia, no one ever tips for anything. Ever. And Australians traveling in places where there is tipping are often rather irritated by it, a bit like Americans who travel to places like Europe where you are expected to pay the toilet attendant. It's a bit weird, paying for things that you think ought to be either free or included in the price of something that you're buying.

Thanks for caring. Yes, I posted the question, and there are a lot of factors in delivering pizzas. First is the gas prices. They are really high, and if I have to drive a 17 mile round trip, and 2 bucks, well that doesn't even pay for the gas here. We get 88 cents per delivery, and we pray that we get close deliveries because we make more $ delivering to the closer sections because we get back quicker and time is $ when your delivering. The distance is more important then price in my opinion because I see this time in and time out again, and that is I deliver a 30.00 order, and get less of a tip then a 15.00 order. Just things to consider. Thanks

YES! Sorry, but I really am final on this one...
The pizza guy is not paid well as it is and a tip can make the world of difference to their pay and confidence. It doesn't have to be huge, but always give SOMETHING! People....Don't be scabs and greedy people...He is delivering YOUR food on cold, wet nights and gets like only a dollar per pizza...Give him a tip. He needs/deserves it.

Some people are cheap pricks. I always (over) tip. Those who don't tip will usually get some extra "toppings" on their pizza the next time around.
