How can i get my social security number checked? To make sure nobody is using it, cause i would HATE to get screwed over by someone that is working with it, and not reporting their taxes. And does it cost money to do so?

Request your credit report from all three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.)

Request the Social Security Office to verify your their records if someone is using your number. On your own you can check your records online by entering your number and birthday on the SSS site.

The real danger is when they use it to apply for credit. Check your credit report before you worry about some illegal using it and not paying taxes.
