I happen to own five cats, and my youngest, Bit, is thought to be, perhaps, part bobcat by my vet. LESS than half, but, still...

He has this strange habit of Dragging the water-bowl into the middle of the kitchen floor, and splashing it everywhere. That, or he just leaves it there for me to trip over in the morning. Is this some sort of wild-cat Habit, or, do normal Housecats do this, as well?

If so, is there anything I can do to curb this Behavior of his?

Cats loose a lot of heat through their feet just like humans. If you are in summer right now, he could be doing it just to cool off. But otherwise he could be just playing. I don't know if there's any way to curb the behaviour though....but then.....my cats rule the roost here and get away with murder!

hehe, welcome to the bizarre international of cats! I feel that is probably the most cutest (and stressful!) developments I've heard in many years! 17 years of dependancy-do you relatively desire to check out and holiday that deep of a conduct? If it is innocent then simply take delivery of it. Wonder what he'd do with an icecube within the water? You might take a look at utilizing a type of 'rabbit' sort water bottles in which he'd must lick on the spout. Or take a look at surroundings his bowl within the tub/bathe or sink so his splashes move down the drain rather of for your ground. Set a thick folded towel below the water bowls so a minimum of it's not in all places the ground?

I think this is pretty normal. I have two cats and they both play with the water. Cozy! likes to drop his toys in the water bowl and them stalk them lol...water EVERYWHERE :) Seth likes to drink with his paws too. Puts his paws in and then licks the water off....If not..your cat could be seeking attention or maybe he's a little bored shut in the kitchen. Try a heavier bowl that he can't move.

My cat did this too! She would splash at the water bowl until it was completely empty! Although it was annoying, I thought it was pretty funny too.

Fortunately she outgrew it fairly quickly. I hope your cat will too!

try to put icecubes in the bowl. sometimes they cant see where the water starts so they splash it and lap it off of the floor.
