The delivery charge is calculated from the pizzeria already. The tip is your addition to that charge in order to keep you from having to drive out to get the pizza.

If they are farther than average or reasonable distance, you can certainly acknowledge that in your tip. YOu are saving a trip, gas, and your time by having it delivered to your door. How much is that worth to you?

No, not usually, now if it is really cold, really hot, or really snowy or something like that I tip more because it can be dangerous.

I usually tip based on what condition the pizza is in when it gets to the door, and how polite the delivery person is

I tipped my guys $3 or so and they were just about right across the street from me. If the street wasn't a very busy road, or I had a car, I would just pick it up... but no way you should have to even think about how to calculate a tip for a driver.

maximum pizza delivery places have a constrained delivery area to make constructive they spend the main time easily handing over pizzas to purchasers - and not working decrease to and fro to the eating place. That suggested, I continually base the top on the value of the order, no longer on the gap the driving force traveled.

Well yea...I also factor in the weather conditions. The time of day or night, the size of the delivery person, the demean er of the delivery person, the type of vehicle the delivery person was driving, the way the delivery person was dressed, how quickly the delivery person got the pizza to me, if the delivery person brought peppers and cheese, and if the delivery person was polite. It's a rather long equation and you have to wait until the delivery person arrives in order to plug in many of the numbers, but in the end it usually works out to between 10 and 20 percent.

I live a mile from Pizza Hut. When I order for delivery I always give over what I'm supposed to. I dunno it's common courtesy, since gas prices are so high and they use there personal vehicles. I have the money, why not do a good deed, help someone out and give them a better tip.

Customary tip is usually 15%. so I just take the tax and double that since tax where I live is about 8%, so its fair enough. [:
