i don't want to use microsoft office for the macbook since it defeats the purpose of getting it. Is there any way for me to stick to using mac office without facing problems like not being able to open or edit microsoft files (which i have to deal with alot since the majority of people are using them).

If you get a new Mac, you can consider installing Boot Camp and dual-booting Mac OS and Windows. It's very easy to set up, and you can install Windows and Office on one partition and have Mac OS on the other. That way you can still run your old Windows software as well as Mac software. There's also a program called Parallels that will allow you to run Windows from within Mac OS.

Apple office or whatever you want to call it takes a little time to figure out all the features, its not as nice as microsoft office. I think MS Office is their best product out there, blows their operating systems out of the water. The two offices are compatible with each other. I have a macbook and use MS office for school and recommend it over Apple Office cause of simplicity. At school they teach us how to use MS Excel, for projects so thats easier. Apple's strongest point is OSX, cause its a much cleaner OS than XP/Vista, and its also miles ahead in technology. I highly recommend getting the Macbook, but get MS Office with it. it doesnt really defeat the purpose of getting a Mac cause thats not Mac's strong point. your getting best of both worlds. sry this is a bit wordy. hope this helps!

The MacBook is 100% compatible with Microsoft Office for the Mac. Just buy it.

I'm not sure what you are talking about when you refer to "Mac Office". I have never heard of such a program.
