if your on the fence about a tattoo, please do not get it. tattoo's are there forever, no matter what people say. even if you get it removed, its still gonna have scarring. my friends have tattoo's on their forearms and they have trouble getting jobs where we have to wear short sleeves at work. I recommend getting something meaningful, not a leprechaun or something that you randomly thought of. well hope this helped.

You should definitely wait a couple of years more. I always wanted one when I was a teenager, then when I was in my early twenties I completely went off them. I did actually finally get one when I was 23 - I designed it myself so I know that no-one can ever have the same as me. You should go to the tattoo parlours and look through their designs - when you see how many of the designs are repeated and popular it does make tattoos seem less classy. Also search the design you think you want on Google - you'd be surprised how many other people might already have it and that might turn you off.
I waited until I was absolutely sure that I wanted one - I also had it done on my back so that it is only visible if I want it to be. Maybe you should think about a more concealed place for your first tattoo to go just in case you do not like it a couple of years down the line. Don't worry about the pain - it only lasts as long as it takes for the tattoo to be finished and it is a bearable pain otherwise no-one would get them done!

Hope what I've said helps - please wait until you are certain - there would be nothing worse than getting one and hating it a year later!

i think you should wait. why? for a long time i wanted a tattoo. since i was a young teenager. ON my 18th birthday i got a tattoo. and looking back, i am TOTALLY not the person that i used to be. i have now covered up my first tattoos and am confident in my current tattoo decisions because they are things that have deep meaning to me.
also the fact that you are planning on getting a tattoo in such a visible place may have bearing on your future. many people impulsively get tattoos in very public places only to regret the placement later in life. your forearm is somewhere that is not easily hideable unless you live in a climate which is always fairly cool. i live in the south and couldn't get away with wearing longer sleeves for more than three months out of the year. definitely think about it long and hard before you go thru with it and if you have any doubts at all... don't do it. you can always decide to do it later but it's not as easy to take the tattoo off later.
why don't you get a temporary tattoo out of a machine and place it on your arm? see how it feels and looks. i promise that it will be weird and you may decide that you don't like it much after you see it there.
good luck with whatever you decide.

if u are in the UK and wanting a tattoo u will have to wait till u r 18 or some tattooist do it at 17 but it all depends where u live and the question on how tolerable it is well it all depends on the individuals pain barrier not to put u off but it is loads of tiny needles going in and out of Ur skin and if u want one u should have it done because it is so worth it after u have had it done as long as u don't regret it afterwards don't go crazy and have Ur partners name tattooed on Ur arm as they can leave you and u will be left with a tattoo that u don't want so make sure u think about what u are having done wisely

Hi, I have 3 tattoos and one is between the wrist and elbow an Indian done in Thailand. There is hardly any hair there so it is quite obvious at all times. It hardly hurts at all sort of having a bunch of little ants having a feast on your arm. Be brave and go for it but just make sure that the needle is sterilized and better still a new one. David

It's never too late to get a tattoo but if you rush into it then regret it it will stay on your skin forever. since you are still young you should really think about what you want tattooed first. Try to pick something meaningful that way you won't get sick of it. Wait a year and if in a year you still want the same tattoo in the same spot then go for it. Just stay away from anything too trendy cuz trends come and go...just think of tribal tattoos and armbands lol

I have a rather large and bold tat on the inside of my left arm. the pain was very tolerable nothing to bad..just felt like what it was, lots of needle pokes in the same area. I would wait if i were you, wait until mom doesn't have to sign off. i have 3 tats, and i thought about 2 of them for more than 3 years before i got them, the one i only wanted and didnt' think about is the one i regret. you may want one and know that you do, and thats fine, its also great if you know what or where, but all of it is what it takes, plus all your gaining from waiting is an even better understanding of where and what you want. i'd wait if i were you.

I'm going to touch on a part I don't think anyone else did...

You're 15. Think how much your body is going to grow and change even by the time you are 20. Your skin (& bones) will stretch and grow... and it is very likely your tattoo will get terribly distorted.

It is a bad idea. Any creditable tattoo artist would not tattoo a 15 year old.

If you are not sure just wait a while and make sure it is something you really want. By the way it is totally irresponsible for your mom to let you get a tattoo at 15 years old

well i havent personaly had a tatoo myself but i know a lot of people who do, including my 16 year old sister.
im 15, and i have wanted a tatoo of a butterfly just above my hip bone for a long time. my mom still hasnt agreed to let me have one, since i am only 15, but i still begged. lols.
but my sister, got a butterfly and a music note on her hip bone and she said it didnt hurt too bad. she said that while she was sitting up, she got really nervous and felt like the room was spinning around. but, when she lied down, she couldnt feel it at all.
im kind of wondering if i want to get a tatoo right now too.
i guess it just depends on how much you really want it and if your willing to go through the nervousness.
she really likes it now, and it came out pretty cool.
my advice would be to wait and think about it, until say, next summer.
if you still want one as bad as you think you do, get it.
if you dont, then good thing you didnt get one right now.
hope i helped a little.
=)

I think it would be okay because my cousin , he got his when he was 15. He said the pain is really quick too. He only got his name on there and I have one on my inner arm. I just got a tiny rose but I guess it differs from person to person and their tolerance of pain when they get it. I'm only 16 now. Only thing you have to do when you get it is just keep it moisturized and don't let the sun hit it for too long because you do not want that. And make sure it's nothing ridiculous like a skull. And make sure you really want this because if you want it removed it will leave this ugly scar. But don't pressure yourself into it. If you don't feel comfortable then don't get it.
