Get some good drugs beforehand like Xanax from your doctor / best friend.

If you can't pull that off, have a few drinks beforehand and then go with a few on the plane as well as alcohol affects you a lot more in the air. You will eventually chill out and fall asleep so you will wake up done with the flight and rested.

Take some anti-anxiety medications under doctor's advice, meditate, do deep breathing, listen to some soothing music etc.

Rescue Remedy (a Bach Flower Remedy mixture) will help you.

Don't forget to get around and walk during the long flight to prevent DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) clotting of blood in the leg veins, causing health risks.

Close your window shade and read or play cards or some kind of game with your seat companion. It works for me. My friend and I flew to Florida from Las Vegas and back last Jan. We are both afraid of flying!! We played cards all the way there and back. Time pasted quickly and we were so involved in the game we hardly knew we were flying.

1. make sure you're on a flight with plenty of in-flight entertainment to keep you occupied

2. try to sleep

3. if it's difficult, drink some wine when you get on the plane and get yourself sleepy. don't drink too much or else you'll feel sick instead
