Hey, aren't they a form of christians. Why are they regarded as the weird ones and other forms of christianity are not.

What are the difference in their beliefs, and why do they come to your door.

I found something on the net, a story from a guy who had them knocking at his oo:
"Got a good story...My Brother and his family lived in Raleigh, NC and 3 days in a row he had the Jehovah's witness knocking on his door...quite annoying but he was nice and said no I am happy with my religion.....He got tired of it after the third day and then next week I was over visiting when he saw them coming AGAIN, I told him to just not answer it he said No then they will keep coming so he said I am gonna put a stop to this...He strips down to his underwear(whitie tighties) and answers the door and was inviting them in, they looked mortified...He said come on in and lets talk religion...This could be fun...after picking there jaws up off the ground they said no sir but thank you? .

He said why not I made snacks...They quickly scurried down the drive way and and he stepped out on his porch and kept yelling..Maybe next time..I'll be waiting!
I was dying laughing...I am sure I didn't explain it near as funny as it was but man if you could have seen their faces...needless to say they never came back....
Anyone one else have a good Jehovah's encounter? please share... "

Also i found a pic on the net, of two testicles as door knockers and the caption read: how to stop jehovahs witness from knocking at your door

So, why are they rediculed, what do they believe and why do they force it on us

They are "weird" because they say things that are not in line with mainstream Christianity, yet have a strong desire for the "Christian" label. Except that they do not hold to basic Christian tenets. They fit the definition of a cult, yet re-define it themselves to mean "doctrines of men."

To their credit, they spend much time learning their doctrine according to their own interpretation of Scripture, and they develop apologetics that befuddle the mainstream Christian by getting into Greek that can be defined the way they want if you don't have a background in this. They also develop debate tactics and sales tactics that get them into your door. and arguing the "truth" of their position. The gullible fall for this, and before they know it, they are JWs themselves, claiming to have the ONLY truth, seeing rejection as martyrdom, loving themselves and hating "the world," shunning seminaries, and interpreting Scripture the way it was never meant to be interpreted.

I would never just appear in the doorway in my underwear to "scare them off." But neither do I care to entertain them. They can quote Matthew 10:14 all they want and shake the dust from their feet as they leave in rejection, but as far as I'm concerned, they are Jude 4 all the way.

National Anthems and School Songs A national anthem often is, in effect, a hymn or a prayer set to music. The Encyclopedia Americana (1956) says: “Love of fatherland and pride in one’s country are the keynotes of most national anthems, and in many, religious feeling is blended with patriotic sentiment.” Actually, patriotic songs express the same fundamental ideas that are embodied in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. And since there is no Scriptural basis for the nationalistic pride that has so divided our world, we do not join in singing songs that extol any earthly nation.—Acts 17:26; John 17:15, 16. When national anthems are played, usually all that a person has to do to show that he shares the sentiments of the song is to stand up. In such cases, Witness youths remain seated. However, if our youths are already standing when the national anthem is played, they would not have to take the special action of sitting down; it is not as though they had specifically stood up for the anthem. On the other hand, if a group are expected to stand and sing, then our young people may rise and stand out of respect. But they would show that they do not share the sentiments of the song by refraining from singing. I hope this helps

I think those seeking to belong get sucked into jevohah's witnesses, that is why they are a cult. They think they are elitists and the number of times they have sat around waiting for the world to end is comical. In the 1950s with their prediction of the world coming to an end on a certain day, they went out charging things they couldn't afford, buying new cars expecting never to pay for them. doesn't sound so christan to me. My grandfather was jevohah witness and he deliberately isolated himself from the family missing so many things such a tragedy. When he was dying in great pain, not believing in the the Lord Jesus he began to talk to Jesus before his final moments. What a surprise he got when he went to heaven, thinking he was only going to the grave so sad

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to "recruit" a householder, or get him to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

WEIRD OR PUZZLED as to our activity! This might be because we are practicing true Christianity!

(1 Peter 4:3, 4) “For the time that has passed by is sufficient for you to have done the will of the nations when you carried on in acts of brazen conduct, unbridled passions, overdrinking, wild parties, drinking bouts, and lawless idolatries. They are puzzled that you do not continue running with them in the same decadent course of debauchery, so they speak abusively of you.”

OF INTEREST is how Lots sons-in-law thought Lot was joking with his urgency to flee Sodom:!

(Genesis 19:14) “So Lot went out and began to speak to his sons-in-law who were to marry his daughters, and he kept saying: “Get up! Get out of this place, because Jehovah will destroy the city!” But to his sons-in-law, he seemed to be joking.”

There are powerful truths on the admonition of the idea of time & action for just about every thing possible!

(Ecclesiastes 3:1-4) “There is an appointed time for everything, A time for every activity under the heavens:  A time for birth and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what was planted;  A time to kill and a time to heal; A time to tear down and a time to build up;  A time to weep and a time to LAUGH; A time to wail and a time to dance. . .........”

DO NOT Jehovah God & Christ Jesus have a marvelous sense of humor in creating so many life forms?

Humor as stated: about when viewing the animal creation for not only serious discoveries but funny situations! as stated

(Job 12:7-9) “However, ask, please, the animals, and they will instruct you; Also the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you.  Or give consideration to the earth, and it will instruct you; And the fish of the sea will declare it to you.  Who among all these does not know That the hand of Jehovah has done this?”

Have not the above a reason to watch & learn that from fun that helps us have a sense of humor!

Jehovah's Witnesses seem weird because they are the only ones with the truth. Their beliefs are based on the Bible, not on man-made fabrications. They shun holidays like Christmas and Easter because of their pagan origins. They shun the cross for the same reason. They refuse to go to war for ANY reason. They do not contaminate themselves with tobacco products. They reject the trinity doctrine because it is a pagan belief. They go house to house to let others know what God's purpose is for the earth, in compliance with Jesus' command at Matt. 28:19.

You are correct. With all the things Jehovah's Witnesses believe in, that must make them appear weird to the world. You can imagine how weird Noah and his family appeared to the people of his day--building an ark and warning people of a rainstorm, even though it had never rained up to that point. By the way, what happened to those people that "weird" Noah preached to? Didn't they drown?

They believe in a demi-god. Jesus is a god, but lesser than god. The religion was started by John? Russell. They are often called Russellights. They believe they have to work their way into heaven. They believe only 144,000 will be in heaven, so had to change their belief after it was apparent 144,000 of them were already going. So now they are trying to be the ones that will live here on earth in eden. Building houses and having a good ol time. What their gonna do after God destroys this world with fire, they haven't figured out yet. Also they changed their bible to try to boster their belief. The bible says in the beginning there was God. Their bible says in the beginning their was A GOD. Their are not enough changes tho. Because I can take their own bible and show them thar is only 1 God. They need a lot more changes to make it work. THEY HAVE TO KNOCK ON SO MANY DOORS. Like a quota. Only some in depth discussion will bring these things to light with them. And most common people don't even know these facts.

For one they will not accept prayer from non witnesses, this is ridiculous because even if you don't agree on some things you should always be willing to join another Christian in prayer. But the most disturbing thing is, they deny that Jesus is God which is a direct violation of scripture. They also deny that the Holy Spirit is a person. So right there they have systematically broken up God's Royal Godhead and family.
