Hi! The meaning of life is to know God and discover His specific plan and will for your life. God loves you and wants to be your Friend. This is why we were created.
However, we have all done things that are wrong (sinned). The 10 commandments show us God's standard. For example, don't lie, don't steal, honor your parents, don't use His Name in vain (swear). We have all broken these commands. The wages (penalty) of sin is death, which is separation from God. We have all sinned, and cannot earn our way to heaven, no matter how much we try to be a good person. Because we have sinned, that is a hindrance to us knowing God and finding meaning in life.
However, there is good news - God loved us so much that even though we have done wrong, He has provided a way for us to avoid hell and be able to go to heaven, and at the same time, have a new start and become His friends. He sent Jesus to die on the cross, taking the penalty our sin deserved. This is how God showed His love for us.
So what you need to do is decide to turn away from sin (which is wrong-doing, disobedience to God), and turn to God. Pray - Tell Him you have sinned and that you want to turn around and live for Him from now on. Ask Jesus to forgive you and come into your life and be your Lord (King, "boss").
Jesus will forgive you and write your Name in His Book in heaven call the Book of Life.
He will also come into your heart (soul) by His Holy Spirit. He will give you a new life. Your desires will then begin to change and you'll desire to do the things that please God. You will also then have a relationship with God, where He is our Friend, and as you talk to Him and listen to Him, He will show you His plan/destiny for your life.
(Then - talk to God on a regular basis, and read the Bible. Try to find a Christian church that can explain things to you more.)

There is no meaning to life and that is the great cosmic joke. No matter what you do in your time on earth, it does not make a difference in the grand scheme of things. The universe will keep expanding regardless of what charity you choose to contribute too. Someday, everyone will be dead. Get used to it now. Just enjoy life and make the best of the time you have.

the meaning of life to you, or to just anyone? The meaning of life to me is a personal code that I live by in order to make the world a better place. Sometimes that involves making a point the hard way.
The only way you'll find it is to figure it out for yourself.

There is only one meaning to life: The meaning that you assign to it.
Reality is different for everyone. You can only see that which you want to see...If you see yourself as poor and miserable, that is exactly what you are going to get....
On the bright side, see yourself as Secure, faithful to your friends and family, upstanding citizen, or leader of the free-world, and honestly strive (take action) to achieve those things and anything is possible...

There is a meaning to life even if you haven't found it yet. Do not expect a quick answer; you may need all your life to work it out. That is your challenge if you wish to meet it.

Life. What is the Purpose of Life? Life....Life....Life. People have so many opinions on this. But here is mine:
Life is not just breathing and spending your days. It is not waiting for death. Life is not about regret.
Life is about living. And when I say living I do not mean just breathing and walking and talking. I mean living.
I mean yelling across a mountain top just to hear words echo back to you.
I mean spreading your arms, getting bare feet, and dancing in the rain.
I mean sitting at a horizon and watching a sunset and letting all your days worries just dive away with that sun.
I mean singing at the top of your lungs without worrying if you sound good or bad.
I mean just running at full speed just 'cause.
I mean giving a destitute even a penny just to see a smile on their face.
I mean putting a big inspirational grin from your heart on your face even through moments of depression.
I mean putting a smile on those faces that are filled with sadness or wet with tears.
So, my friend, what is life? Life is simply living. But living for this world. There is so much sadness, melancholy, hate, sorrow, pain, and agony in this world. It wouldn't hurt to just get up in the morning and put a smile on your face. And think....that today...today...I'll live for this world. Today I'll dance in the rain just 'cause. Today I'll sing in a crowd just 'cause. Today I'll say hello to everyone I see just 'cause. Just 'cause there is enough sadness in this world...and maybe, just maybe, if I can put a smile on my face and cheer someone else up...AKA live for this world....maybe, just maybe, There will be some...a little bit of less sadness and melancholy in this world. Maybe...Just Maybe.
There you go, that's my opinion. Life is living for this world and without a reason. Just living for this world....just 'cause. Just cause you want to lessen that sadness that weighs this world down.

For me, life is about honoring God with my heart, actions and thoughts. I do believe there is a God shaped hole in all of us. I am praying for you as I answer this.
May I suggest a book?- Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning? Frankle was a concentration camp survivor who survived to publish his research on Logotherapy, teaching people to reframe the events in their life to see meaning

most of your typical answers will be jesus or "whatever you make it" both of which are inspirational, yes, but the meaning of life is truly to serve God. You may not believe this, (most ppl don't) but the truth is He made us and its our job to praise him and live our lives in service to him because he made us and loves us and keeps our hearts beating and all that. he even sent his own son Jesus to die for us so we can be with him in heaven. i know it sounds weird but it is the truest thing ever. there is a heaven and you dont have to be good enough to get there...you just have to accept that God made a way for you to go and that you cant get there by yourself. thats a lot to take at one time but it is something to think about.
