No, because no Catholic worships Mary.
+ Saints +
Catholics share the belief in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including the Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Episcopal, and Methodist Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief where all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When you die and go to heaven, you do not leave this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints. You, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.
As part of this family, you may ask your family and friends here on earth to pray for you. Or you may also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Andrew, or your deceased grandmother in heaven to pray for you.
Prayer to saints is communication, not worship.
+ The Blessed Virgin Mary +
"Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you" (Luke 1:28)
"Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb" (Luke 1:42).
In Luke 1:48, Mary prophesied: "From henceforth all generations shall call me blessed."
A question for Christians who take the Bible literally: Do you call Mary "blessed"? If no, why?
The Hail Mary prayer simply recites Bible passages (the Word of God) and asks Mary to pray for us:
Hail Mary Full of grace, the Lord is with you. (These are the words the angel Gabriel said to Mary, a Bible quote.)
Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. (This is Mary's cousin Elizabeth's greeting, another bible quote.)
Holy Mary, (The angel Gabriel said she was full of grace and Elizabeth said she was blessed.)
Mother of God, (the Bible says Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ, God the Son)
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. (A simple request to pray for us.)
Amen.
+ With love in Christ.

hope these help and god bless.
for the non catholics..........
what came first, the church or the bible?
which church gave us the bible?
if said church was infallible in declaring the 27 books of the new testament it stands to reason that this church was infallible in selecting the 46 books of the old testament.
read the writings of the earliest christians, the church fathers.
all these writings are in concordance with the catholic church,no opposition to catholic teaching came until the reformation from certain people who couldn't frankly handle the truth or come to terms with certain truths. the bible is a catholic book, made possible for christians of today to have the word of god, we from jesus were promised the guidance of the holy spirit. 2000years going strong attest to this guidance and protection. god bless an please consider these points.

Thinking that we worship Mary is a huge misconception. I won't even answer that part of the question. It's been done ad nauseum.
But to say that Catholics don't worship Jesus is untrue and deliberately hateful.
Not only do we worship and adore Him, but at every Mass we attend we receive Him; His full Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, in the Holy Eucharist.
Don't you wish you could do the same? You can you know. Come home to His Church, the one he founded 2000 years ago, instead of the one of 30,000+ denominations that you currently subscribe to...one that was founded somewhere between the 1500's and 2007. All the people at the link below did.

Catholics do not worship Mary 'instead' of Jesus. If you had ever entered a Catholic church, you would have immediately noticed that either a depiction of Jesus or a cross is always, without exception, at the center of the church. Statues of Mary are always, without exception, off to one side, sometimes even with a statue of St. Joseph. Catholics ask Mary for intercession. You need look no further than the Hail Mary:
Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with thee
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus
Holy Mary, Mother of God
Pray for us sinners
Now, and at the hour of our death
Notice how it refers to the Lord Jesus as being with her and as the fruit of her womb, and asks her to pray for us. Other Catholic saints also have feast days, on which we celebrate their memories and ask THEM to pray for us in much the same way.
On a side note, this is why claims that the Catholic Church has demonized women (see Mary Magdalene in "The DaVinci Code") are completely absurd. Catholicism is the only major monotheistic religion that places a woman in a position so close to the Deity.

I agree. Catholics do worship Mary. Prayer is a form of worship. Idoloty, by definition, is when you give what belongs to God to someone, or something other than God.
Jesus said that prayer should only be to the Father.
"You must pray then, this way: Our Father, who art in heaven..." -Matthew 6:9
I would like to see one single scripture that shows we should pray to Mary. Just one. I'm dead serious. If anyone can post a single scripture that shows that we should pray to Mary, or even one example in the Bible where it shows anyone doing so, I will gladly devote my entire being to the Caholic Church.
I live near Carthage, Missouri and once a year Vietnamese Catholics hold a city-wide celebration in honor of Mary. Interestingly enough, they do not have such a celebration for God.
And as for religious icons, statues, and pictures, perhaps Catholics have not read the scripture in 2 Corinthians 5:7 which reads "for we are walking by faith, not by sight". True Christians do not use imagery in worship at all.
Also, Mary is not a Christians mediary (or mediatrix) to God. Jesus is the ONLY way to approach God. He himself said at John 14:6 "No one comes to the Father except through me."
Mother worship has its roots in false religion, and this is just one of the many, many things the Catholic church has adopted that makes it false, and a detestable thing to God.
*Update*
What, Catholics? Can no one find a scripture to support praying to Mary? Shouldn't that tell you something? The Bible says that only God is the "hearer of prayer". -Psalm 65:1, 2)

I asked the same question about this, and got answers like "we don't worship her, we just love and respect her" kind of answers. Yeah right. They have turned Mary worship into a billion dollar a year business (just check out South America) and urge the flock to pray to Mary when Jesus told us to pray only to God through him. Go figure.

You're right, Mary did not die for our sins. But she is extremely important, because she is an example of someone who completely trusted God and gave herself over to His will. She gave birth to Jesus, who did die for our sins. Mary is venerated, not worshiped. As for statues, Christian art and iconography has a very long and ancient history, and the statues are hardly worshiped. We ask Mary and the saints to pray for us, just the same as we would ask a friend or relative to pray for us. We admire Mary and the saints for their lives of piety.

Because they have been deceived into believing that all they have to do every time they sin is go kneel in front of a bunch of candles or sit in a confessional and "it's all good"! Because they don't care to know the truth! It is clear to me that they haven't bothered to study their Bible very thoroughly! It is clear to me that the Catholics really don't care about God's law or following in Christ's footsteps! They baptize babies, go to church on Sunday rather than keeping the 7th day Sabbath holy, confess their sins to a priest rather than to Jesus, set up their nuns and priests for failure by not allowing them to have normal lives as husbands and wives, worship the Pope as if he were God on earth........... the list goes on and on! Any sincere Christian who desires to know the actual truth would never remain a Catholic!

We absolutely do not worship her. We do recognize her a a very holy woman....She should be recognized for that and Jesus would want His mom to be. (Wouldn't you want your mom to be?) And, we dont worship statues or pictures, either. And, It is ok to put up pictures and statues of those we love, we do it with our children and family, why not for the most important, Jesus? And, as far as Catholics are concerned, we can go through Mary and the saints to pray to Jesus.....of course we can also directly to Him. It just gives us a bigger playing field.

Catholics do not worship Virgin Mary. We "revere" her, not worship, as the Mother of Jesus, a creature blessed by God to be the mother of His son.
We neither worship the statues: they're only an aid to the faith. The statues are only a conception of, in this case, Virgin Mary, and can be accurate or not: they remembered us who was Her and what She did. If you have a photo of, say, your mother, you don't say "This photo is my mother". You say "This is the photo of my mother". When she got away, it will help you to remember her.
