Does a human always have two babies? No....and it's the exact same in the cat world.
Cats on average have 8 nipples...but they can have up to twelve (from what I have seen/heard)
One of my breeding queens had 12 nipples & only has 3 kittens........but it was incredibly obvious that only 10 of her nipples were producing milk.

Of course not. A female cat will have the same number of nipples all her life unless some freak accident or disease causes the loss of one or more. Cats have varying number of kittens per litter, not always the same number for each litter. The number of nipples she has is not going to change for each pregnancy.
Contrary to some beliefs, a cat can have more kittens than she has nipples to go around, and still successfully raise all her kittens.
I keep thinking 5 kittens... I sometimes do animal intuitive work, and right now I have been seeing a black cat with 5 kittens inside, so whomever's cat this is, I don't know... if you have a pregnant black cat, maybe she is having 5 kittens.
At any rate, best of success, Lili

No, but if she has 3 kittens then only the 3 nipples that the kittens are nursing off of will produce milk. The other nipples will dry up. If she has 6 kittens then 6 nipples, or 1 kitten then 1 nipple, etc

As Drea has said, the nipples are used only to feed the kittens during the first few months of life, before being weened off. They average about 8 to a cat because cats have a high tendancy to give birth to sometimes large litters, and need them all to feed their litters.
If there is not enough niples, then it is usually the smallest (runt) of the litter who is pushed aside by its siblings and /or mother so that the stronger kittens can feed and have the best chance of survival.

That's a pretty funny idea. Your cat could have 13 nipples with her first pregnancy, then 2 nipples the second time around.
I know this might sound like a broken record, but have you considered getting your kitty fixed after she has her litter of kittens?

No. Unfortunately a cat has kittens based on mating rather then nipples. I have seen cats have as many as 10 kittens with the outcome sad at best. Momma kitty can only nurse so many.

Nope. The number of nipples will vary from cat to cat and the number of kittens may be more or less. If there is more kittens than nipples to nurse from they will be forced to compete to eat. Because of this, the smallest kitten, the runt, may not get adequate nutrition.

No. Cats all have the same number of nipples, no matter how many babies they have.
