The formal name of the Jehovah's Witness religion is "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses".
When an adherent of that religion refers to himself as a "Jehovah's Witness" or "Witness" or "JW", it generally is because he assumes that the listener or reader understands the implications of the name.

Jehovah's witnesses don't believe in the trinity, the think Jesus is really the arch-angel Michael. The church in Rome thinks that they are the only true church of God and they don't want to be associated with people who believe what the Bible teaches, that the church is the body of Christ made up of all born again believers so they claim to be the Catholic or universal church and all others are to be pitied. As to Lutheran's or Anglicans I think that they would call themselves Christians first.

Because Catholics support things that are not written in the Bible. They believe the written idea's of the pope are equivalent to the written word of God. Not all people that profess themselves to be Christians are Christians. Mormons say they are Christians, but they have a completely different Bible. Jesus hated religion. He called the best Jews of the day vipers, because they were not men of God. You should only follow the Bible, and not a Church that deviates from the word of God. Not a Church that adds to the word of God. Not a Church that supports ideas that are not in the Bible. Catholics are an example of a church that doesn't follow the Bible.

Jesus illustrated that in a future time the congregation of Christians would be infiltrated with goats and a separation from the sheep would take place.
His chosen people would take up his father's name.
Isaiah 62:2 foretells: "And you will actually be called by a new name, which the very mouth of Jehovah will designate."
Isaiah 43:10,11 - “YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah

Organized religions are the traditions of man and not God. I sit in a nondenominational church. I am a Christan but I like to consider myself as doing the will of God.
DO THE WILL OF GOD
You need to find a home church, be obedient, follow his word, be baptized with the holy spirit, show your self approved and do the will of God (Mark 16: 15 - 18)

I'm a person first and include humanity of which i'm a member . Good reason for not going against humanity is I'm a member and don't want to go against myself. why divide and conquer when you can incorporate ...?
