The State with the most migrants and most people is New South Wales. The largest city in Australia and also the one with the most diverse population is Sydney. The second most diverse city would be Melbourne.

Might be Melbourne or Sydney. City - probably Canberra. I work with people from England, Turkey, France, New Zealand, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Sri Lanka and various parts of Australia. Some of the Australian born have Polish, Japanese or Dutch parents. That is just my section. On the same floor there are more Indians, and people from Ethiopia, Argentina, Italy and another from Sri Lanka.
I have two Italian neighbors and an Indian family lives down the street. I used to see a woman in Afghan (?) dress walking past the house but not recently.

Victoria...they have the largest Greek population outside of Greece in the world!
Also have Italians and a lot of Asians. That is why Melbourne is known for its selection and quality of food!
wtg_ib, mariemlm is saying that Darwin is the multicultrual city and QLD is the multicultral state. I thorght the same as you when I first read it myself!...look at it closer, youll see it!

Without any doubt, would be Victoria of which Melbourne is the capital city and being the most multicultural, it is also the most tolerant.

I'm sticking my neck out and guessing at NSW - there are so many immigrants from almost every part of the world in Sydney. Plus near to where I live, we have a significant Sikh community, plus Burmese refugees, and there are Sudanese settled in Tamworth (poor things!).
